I don't get it, a month ago everyone was ready to trade him for a can of Icehouse, now Yao has surgury and we see a few pics of T-Mac supposedly making great strides to comeback and everyone's riding his jockstap. This is the same T-Mac that quit in the Toronto game, he is ONLY getting in shape now because it's a contract year. I'm happy because the guy is uping his trade value, but I still don't want to see him in a Rockets uniform past this year. He's 30 years old and looking the his last big deal, once he get's it'll be Jerome James part 2.

Well he's also the Tmac who carried us in the playoffs year after year when Yao Ming was either still developing or injured....remember that?

Not everyone was ready to trade him, only short-memory fans like you. So what if its his contract year? Why the hell would you care what the dude's motivation is, as long as he shows up on the court? Its a win win situation if Tmac comes back, he gets his money and we either ride him to glory or trade him at the deadline. Why can't you just be happy for both the team and Tmac instead of spraying haterade all over the place? Yeeesh

Since Yao went out, the situation changed for me, it was no longer as important to trade him.

Just let him play, see what happens and trade him at the deadline if necessary.

there's always been posters who loved tmac and some that hated him or didnt want him back....its only natural for those who like him to have more to say now.....the moment we get some "fat" pics or anything negative, you'll see Tmac hate..

You know when posters ask for "pics" in a thread? Well we mean it!

It is mainly because of all of the Yao fans that were here a month ago, they are the loudest Tmac bashers so it appears that the entire board was against him. Now that Yao is out of the season, the Yao fans don't really come around here much anymore so you have a more balanced view towards him.

I the the more rational people realize that Tmac really was injured last year, and we realize he has much to prove, is coming into a contract year, and and plans on coming back in shape and hungry. I expect big big things from Tmac this year assuming he stays healthy. I'm excited.

I am far from excited about him, his style is still not conducive to winning basketball....

I am wary of what he will do etc....will he conform to the Adelman offense? Will he stop holding the ball all the time? Will he move off the ball?

Will he attack the basket and become an efficient player?

I don't think any of that has changed, but I do think if he plays pretty well, shows himself healthy, that the team can trade him for more valuable pieces...and THAT is where I think he can help us the most going forward.

Calm down YOF. Its the offseason. What else is there to talk about? Yao is injured AGAIN, the draft and summer league are in the past, and they have no cap room to sign a significant free agent.

You act like flip-flopping on this board is something new. "He's a caaaaaaaancer"... at least pick a new disease, people... that one's getting so overused on this board, it's cliche now.

It's the Power of Hope. It's so powerful it can transform rocks to flowers and haters to lovers in a short order.

YOF? Really? I'm a fan of the Rockets and I think it's in the best interest to get rid of both players and start over if you want the truth. But I know that won't happen...I'm tired of the injuries every year from Sura to Franchise's comeback to McGrady to Yao and Mutombo. Just blow this team up already and get a few top picks and start over.

If ANYONE's the tid bit of rational or a real ROCKETS fan, he or she would not have ignorantly labeled ALL of Yao fans Mac haters. So the above post has no merit whatsoever.

I disagree. You compare his style to Allen Iverson. That is not a good comparison. He is a better passer than AI and he is more of a team player and facilitator than AI. And he's a closer and can rise up and elevate over his defender to get just about any shot he needs when healthy. And he's a closer, can finish off the close games for us. Go back and watch that 1st round series in 2005 with Dallas when we got screwed by the refs and tell me his style is not conducive to winning basketball. The Mavs were a damn good team that year and he had us in position to win that series when nobody else even gave the rockets a chance.

since the yao went out, i think most fans see this season as borrowed time.

why trade your raiders/browns tickets for peanuts if you have absolutely nothing to do on sunday? just might be an interesting game, and it's not like you are missing anything.

No love here. I still want him gone if the right deal comes along. He is going to be the same player he has always been mentally and who knows what he will be physically. Probably better than last season but not as good as the previous two seasons.
