Man I go on vacation for two weeks and come back to a barrage of threads asking for JVG's head on a platter, Yao's gotta go, etc. People need I remind you that we are only 15 games into the season and have a record of 6-9. And of the nine games we have lost most of them have not been by much. Now I will admitt that the slow starting first halfs are killing us but not as much as the lack of rebounding on both ends of the floor, the piss poor shooting precentage, the fact that Yao still is not asserting himself like a legitimate 7'-6" center should, T-Mac is having one of the worst shooting % starts of his career....I could go on. The fact is we have played like 3 more games then most other teams in a much tougher conference with a completely revamped lineup. And don't give me this crap about Steve Francis is kicking butt in Orlando, just take a look at his last game against the Celtics... Bottom line is just chill out everybody. Success doesn't happen overnight. We just got Sura back which I feel will increase our wins dramatically, we have some descent role players who are starting to step up. The one thing we are lacking right not is consistency and that is mostly on the players, not the coach. NOBODY SAID IT WAS GONNA BE EASY DOG!!!
congratulations!! you're the smartest guy i've ever met. seriously...Yao knocks down some shots down the stretch of some of these games, and our record looks a lot better.
Reminds me of the sunshine pumpers v. haters on Longhorn boards a year ago, the difference being that the average Longhorn fan waited 6 to 7 years to start b****ing about Mack and the offense while the average Rox fan b****es every time his woodrow goes limp (which is apparently quite often). I'm still waiting for a poster to blame JVG for his inability to masterbate effectively.
True. (and extremely painful to watch) Also True. I'm not ready to write off Van Gundy yet, but he doesn't get a lot of slack for losing since it's so damn ugly. Losing would be a lot more tolerable if there was the promise of something really exciting on the horizon. And, of course, winning would make it all better. In this case, there seems to be only the promise (or suggestion... maybe hint) of winning ugly so it's really hard to stay positive. I'm trying.
Very well put. We are losing close games right now, but 10 of our 15 games have been against playoff teams from last year and we have not lost by much, even against the defending champions on the night they got their rings. We will take some time to gel and for everyone to fall into their roles on this team, but we will be a very good team this year. I hate to see the Rox fall apart at the end of games, but I would hate it even more (and might even be on the "axe JVG" bandwagon) if we were losing badly or getting blown out every other game. We have a great group of core players, our "shock troops" have shown the ability to turn around large deficits, and it is still the first month of the season. April is a LONG way away.
Just curious, what was Jonathan Feigens of the houston chronicle prediction for the month of November and what was his overall prediction for the rocket season. Anyone
OddsOn, I with you bud, this is just way too early for this. In fact I can't wait until the Roxs go on a run and all these fair weather fans turn tail and start singing another tune, it'll happen.
Rejoice!!! Five years of Franchise is over. Things are getting better all the time. If VG or Yao or Tmac go or stay is irrelevant. We have the ability now to get better.
yup, cuz if we know anything, it's that Sura is a proven winner. SURA IS THE MAN NOW DOG!!! btw, in case you didn't get the memo, the rox are going to be contracted after Yao decides to hop on the Laker train in a couple of years. Rooting for the rox right now = waste of your time.
