He's my favorate player on the team and I think he's a great player,a hustler, solid defender and is not a hotdog. I love him but zero points in 27 minutes. This is a messed up situation. Tell me why is this....

I hope he comes around and he can stay on this team and win a championship together.

He still contributed a lot in this game. Defense, hustle, assists, boards. It doesn't matter if the game ends with a win.

Shandon- 7 assists. Steve- 1 assist?

I wish I saw that game. No way in hell Steve should have low assists like that in a game with the rocks shooting %53. Is he racking up those 'hockey assists' or something? What plays are being called that are giving SA all those dimes?

Steve had 7 assists not 1.

Anyway, I agree i would like to see Shandon involved, IMO he is the third best player on this team.

But the way i see it, it is either dream playing wellor Shandon playing well.

When shandon was playing well dream was suffering and wanted to be traded.

Now that Dream is playing well, Shandon has got a goose egg and a couple games very close to that number.

He was still involved offensively(7 assists) but i would like to see him SCORE more.

He also only picked up something like 21 mintues, which in my opinion is not a number fitting for our starting small forward.

As long as Shandon contributes in other ways he doesn't have to score.

1 play particularly stood out: Shandon all alone for the fastbreak and everyone thinks he's gonna dunk it. NOPE! He throws up an alleyoop for Steve who lays it in. I mean, Shandon's the shooting guard... he's the one supposed to be taking the shots!

I'm not criticizing Shandon... it just goes to show what chemistry this team has & how unselfish they are, especially Shandon.

He really is perfect for this team. I could, and you should, care less about his stats. His defense is just solid, he has such good technique. He's been torched by a couple players this year, but I can tell you it wasn't because he was playing bad D, it was because they were hot. This teams needs a shandonesque big man, who will only rebound and block shots. Hopefully, kelvin cato will be that.

Shandon for Hakeem is a good trade. The best part is, the Rockets get great play from the Dream, and still benefit from Shandon's Defense.

Its just the luck of the draw, I imagined they probably passed the ball a lot around on the perimeter and whoever is closest to the shooter gets the credit for the assist.

Oddly enough, the last three games we have played, it seems there has been a low number of assists. If I recall correctly, I believe the number of assists starting from the Knicks was 19,19,22. All of these were in games where we made about 40 field goals.

Now I realize that this is not a bad number necessarily, but doesn't it seem slightly low for three games in which we routed the opponent?

when the Rox are passing the ball around in the half-court, Steve will naturally get less assists because alot of the time the end-shooter isn't the one that Steve initially gave it to..besides how many times does Cut-tino bring the ball up and then pass off an ISO or PNR for the assist?
btw..how many assists did Cat get?

he's playing his part on the team. Although I'd like to see him score some more, i'm absolutely sure when we need himt o score he will score. Like Hakeem if given the chance he'll shine..... and he'll get his chance when there's a huge mismatch at his spot where he's the dominating figure. just watch he'll spank a few teams heading towards the end and in the playoffs he and dream will be seriously eating people alive....

you know, it's so amazing to me how no matter how well cuttino does, he can't escape criticism around here; and, no matter how poorly shandon may do, he can't be touched around here.

    this is so backwards.

    Shandon does what is necessary
In fact that is why our team works

    everyone does what is necessary
Hakeem NOW is doing is part [READ HEART]

He, Cut and Francis are leading
    Shadon is stabilizing and defense
Moe is scoring and BETTER DEFENSE THEN I THOUGHT
Los KT Mooch holding it down while the others
    rest
BUll and Wiz hit the shots [when they on]

Langhi and collier waiting their turn

    Cato . .. er. . uhm. . .collecting a check
and making sure the bench don't fly up

    Also
I do we need everyone on our team to be
    12~15 pts/game players?
    5~10 rbs/game
    2~5 ast/game

It's about roles folx even stars are just
ROLE players that get the leading role.

I don't worry about Shan's scoring if we winning
I think we should look for folx to step up
every one more again but. . . HELL I prefer
if be 0 for 8 and we win
than him 14 for 15 in a lose

I like that he doesn't force shots
trying to get stats to satify some
BBS types. why should he shoot to be
a 15/6/5 guy when we win more if he is
    a 8/6/3 guy that plays D?

    Rocket River
leave Shan alone!! He just great!!

Check the box score again, Francis truly had 1 assist.

How many times does Cuttino get the ball, dribble for a second to try faking his defender out, then shoot from exactly the same spot that he recieves the pass? No assist on that play. Lots of dribbling by Mo as well. That doesn't mean he is less effective. Sometimes a low number of assists can be misleading.

Does anyone know what makes an assist an assist, instead of a pass and then a shot. In other words, If Steve passes the ball to Cuttino and he shoots right away and makes it, then that is an assist. But what if Cuttino receives the pass , and then dribbles the ball between his legs a few times, and then does a double juke and then shoots the ball and makes it. Does Steve get the assist still. How many seconds have to go by , or are they all considered assists??

I know , I know, dumb question, but I just don't know the answer.

    rocks
