Yo, I have been gone for two weeks and I haven't heard much on Griffin's play. I heard he was injured. How serious is the injury? I also heard that he grew 1 1/2 inches over the summer, is that true? Can someone please fill me in on his situation?

Since Grant Hill sprained his ankle and took more than a year to heal, it seems that ankle sprains have become far more serious than in the past. I'm sure that's not really so, but it sure seems that way.

Thanks for the clarification. For some reason, I was thinking it was a "bad sprain." Sorry for the "brain sprain.":D

They say he won't play until after the next game.

The rockets website has Griffin listed as 6'10" which is an inch taller than the recruiting reports before the draft.

You're probably thinking of Cato's "high ankle sprain" that kept him out for so long. :)

I was playing college ball and had a high ankle sprain or 3rd degree sprain and they are very serious. I almost red shirted because it just lingers on. Actually , a player is better off with a broken ankle than a high or 3rd degree sprain because a cast can be put on. Those severe sprains just seem like they never heal unless you just stay off of them for months at a time.

it originally was a bad sprain but hill kept playing on it during the playoffs and really screwed it up. Although if anyone saw Jason Kendals sprain that is one of the worst I have ever seen

Jason Kendall's bone was hanging out of his sock so that was not a sprain.

I think Griffin's first game back will be on Monday. I think Griffin growing 1 and 1/2 inches since last year is correct. I hope he doesn't start slow like Langhi has since his sprain. (Then again, how can I tell the difference with Langhi?)
