Does anyone know what his status is and will be? Has he bulked up? Will he be a backup center or backup PF? How will he fit into the coming zone offensive/defensive scheme?

He's been eating Bratwurst on the grill and drinking beer in the offseason, so yeah, he's bulked up!

    the word is he SUCKS!

Actually, the word is that that's r****ded. When Collier was given minutes as the primary backup center, he consistently got between 6-10 pts and 3 reb in 10-18 minutes per game. Sure, he did get hurt early on, so he could not sustain those numbers because of injuries, and perhaps he couldn't have done it for a season. We don't know. But I challenge you to find a backup center who "sucks" in the NBA who when given 10-18 minutes gave as much as Collier did when he was given that time as the backup center. It's too early to say if Collier will be a good player, and I'm not trying to say that. I am saying it's definitely a good possibility though, esp. if you consider what he produced when given top minutes in the first games of his rookie season. And it's certainly too early to say he sucks, unless you're one of those guys who thinks of basketball as nothing more than freakish athletism and hops. OF course, that's probably about 50% of our board. [IMG] If you're gonna say he sucks, why can't you back it up? Come back with some numbers from when Collier was healthy and getting some minutes. Compare them to some of the other backup centers or big men in the NBA. Once you find some big men who "sucked" and put up the numbers Collier did in his first month of NBA ball when healthy and given backup center minutes, let me know. There won't be too many. Until you do, please refrain from boneheaded and baseless posts like the one above. Thanks.

    LOL

The Cat, was he not healthy the whole last half of the season?

I don't want to put Collier down yet, because I haven't seen much of him, and I'm reluctant to say that players suck(See earlier posts about Cato), but will he ever get his playing time?

I thought he was out for close to the whole last half of the season.

Yeah, I thought he was out too.

I dunno, when I saw him in SA during the preseason, he was HORRIBLE, but that appeared to be just one game, as he played very well during the time he was given. He wasn't a great offensive force, but he worked REALLY, REALLY hard -- kindof like Othella, or Pig Miller.
