The other day myself and some co-worker friends went to this burger joint called "Wally's" here in Austin and like all burger joints, they have a 39 cents or whatever deal to "upgrade" the fries and drink in your combo to large. Of course McDonald's made this famous with "Super Size", but this place called it "Wally Size", which became the joke of the day. So we started naming off all places we could think of -- big or small -- that had a unique name for the "Super Size". McDonald's: Super Size Burger King: King Size Short Stop: Texas Size Sonic: Sonic Size Whataburger: What-a-size Wendy's: Biggie Size If you know of others, please add them to the list... ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
Jack-in-the-Box is (I think) Jumbo Size. ------------------ In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.
This is funny, because if you do this to your meals often, then you will certainly need to excer-size! Ha ha hah ha hahah ha ! ------------------ "Happiness is a journey, not a destination. Work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching."
Clutch, where is Wally's? I've never heard of it. You should check out Hut's Hamburgers on 6th just west of Lamar, best burgers in town. ------------------ "Oh No..." -Bill Walton in 97 just before Stockton's buzzer beater
Not exactly on topic, but close. Down in Seabrook there is a hamburger joint called "Tookie's". Really good burgers and onion rings to die for. One of their burgers is called a 99er. So to "supersize" it, or get a double 99, you have to order a "198". Also, the bacon burger is called a "Squealer" and the double meat version is called a "Piggyback". ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
Man, can you say overrated? The best burgers in town are probably at Mike's Pub on 7th between Congress and Brazos. Babes' burgers aren't bad either. Neither are Fran's or Dan's. Hut's sucks though! During the Rockets title run, I convinced Kahn's Deli to market "Olajuwon" as their super-size for ruebens (of which they have 4 varieties). They already had regular and large. So, they started, Regular, Large and Olajuwon (a-larger-one). They eventually dropped that: too confusing to train. But to this day, they still have a sandwich called the Olajuwon. I dare anyone to try to eat it in one sitting. btw: they make the best rueben in this world. Order a "small combo, extra-toasted" and say the "whiney-one" said they'd set you up with the best rueben ever. [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited February 20, 2001).]
Hillbert's. Believe it's on Burnet, but it might be Lamar; either way it's between 45th and 2222. I shook off many a collegiate hangover thanks to Hillbert's.

While Mike's Pub is pretty damn good, Hut's isn't bad either. But for those of you around Austin before 1995, Mad Dog's on 24th near the drag were the best burgers ever. Unfortunately, they got closed down for health and tax violations. ------------------ Is it any coincidence that the Cato is the only Rocket with a temperature scale named after him? I didnt think so!!!!

"It's near the In-N-Out Burger." "The In-N-Out Burger, those are good burgers, Dude." "Shut the f*ck up, Donny" Wow, I love that scene in The Big Lebowski. I didn't know the In-N-Out Burger was an actual burger chain. ------------------ "Happiness is a journey, not a destination. Behad...does Tookies still have the bean burger? It's a double cheese burger with refried beans, fritos and picante sauce piled on. mmmmmmmmmmmgood. Kagy, Hilbert's is my buddy's dad's (Hilbert)place. I usually go to the one on Cameron Rd. I created a burger there that isn't on the menu. I call it the Chili Bomb. Double meat, double cheese, chili, bacon, jalapenos, onions, and mustard. Have to take off all the rings and even my watch. I usually schedule a nap in about 45 minutes after downing one. Go to the Cameron Rd location and ask for one. ------------------ In the end there will be no judges...only witnesses to my greatness.
Behad, Can't say that I remember having the chalupas before. We used to always drop in to Tookies after wade fishing the Seabrook flats for a bean burger and a vanilla coke. Kagy...shoot...nothing in this world is free. But if you ask for a Chili Bomb they'll know you mean business! ------------------ In the end there will be no judges...only witnesses to my greatness.
Holy ****! PLUCKERS! I forgot all the hell about that one! What was the other one... I think it was off Rio Grande... damn we used to order from them all the time. ****. I can't remember. Hey, when the hell did Logan's BBQ become Bonbo BBQ? Is the food still any good?
