Are we going to play or what?? I live in Dallas, but would be willing to drive to H-Town to play a little friendly pick up game with my fellow Rocket fans! Summer sounds good.

    Let's get something ironed out.

    lot of enthusiam from many.

my last suggestion was to do the Draft Party at Jeff's house, and talk about the game in person. Then nominate P1 S2 to organize the game, but he'll probably just Pass the ball...you know him.

    Howdy Heypartner,
I see you are roaming the lonely dark streets of clutchcity.net at a late hour as well.

Your plan sounds good. We have a lot of details to iron out, ie indoor, outdoor, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, or the real deal 5 on 5. Where? When? Who? Why?

But I am game and will pencil it in the schedule if it comes to fruition.

    Heypartner,
I can be greedy, too. Besides, if everybody expects me to pass, I should have plenty of shooting opportunities, right? I hate to say it, but remember what happened in game 6 vs. Utah a few years ago when Stockton was alone at the top of the key? Ouch.

Seriously, I'll organize the game no problem. I need to know when and where the party will be. Sure it'll be during the draft, but what time will it begin, and we all need to know where to meet up at, etc.

Right now I'm thinking I can get us a YMCA gym no problem. Once we work out a date and time, that shouldn't be a problem. My idea is that if we can't get enough 5 on 5 games, a 3 on 3 tournament would be great. Besides, with a 3 on 3 game, the geriatric folks could last longer.

Everybody interested in the game should e-mail me at philip_w_moore_jr@hotmail.com. I'll send out a batch e-mail with details as they develop (time, forum, etc.). This will help us keep informed and I'll have a running tab on who is expected or interested in coming to Houston for the game.

Sorry, guys, but my house isn't big enough to accomodate a draft party - especially if it is well-attended. Alternate venues?

    Jeff,
That depends on everybody's age. I could land us Griff's or Senor Rita's for the draft party, but I suspect that'd be a problem for the younger crowd (I don't want FABRs' parents trying to sue me for getting a 12 yr. old wasted).

Can you think of a few age-neutral venues? How about Texadelphia on Westheimer? That's a restauraunt with food and beer and big screen TVs (two of 'em), and plenty of smaller sets. as well. It's a good idea, I think...

I think someplace centrally located would be best for all concerned. If it is for the draft party, I'd think we'd want to do it somewhere inside the loop or at least in the Galleria area. Don't know anything about Texadelphia.

This could also be used as a recruiting tool for Hoop-It-Up....if you guys play. I generally play in Dallas, Houston, Tyler, San Antonio, and Austin.

    Tycoonchip,
Send me an e-mail at the address below. I'm trying to organize the game, and I need to be able to send notices as stuff develops.

As far as Texadelphia on Westheimer goes (for the draft party), it's actually inexpensive, and can accomodate all of us regardless of age. I'm 25, but a lot of us aren't.

    p1 s2,

keep in mind, i might be able to swing Autrey Court on *any* weekend.

don't fret too much about location. Date is most important. You'll find half the people can do July 4th weekend, the other half can't...type stuff. Thanks for volunteering. I just wanted you to know, location won't be your biggest problem.

    Jeff,
Texadelphia is in the Galleria Area; in fact it's right next to Mama'a and Pappasito's. Inside the loop is cool, too. But like I said, the onlt place large enough I know that we could reserve is Griff's, and that place would exclude a lot of ccnet bbs folk because they are too young.
Where inside the loop are you thinking about?

    Junkyard Dog,
Westside would be real cool to play at. I'll call and find out some details in about 2 weeks. As far as the draft party goes, got any ideas for a location?

Let's play in Washington DC! Where I live. Road Trip for you'all in Houston, but hey, what a great place to play. Maybe Steve Francis would play too.

    Hey Pass,

Put me down on the list. I don't post as much as I used too, but I'm still here [IMG]. Thanks again.
