Also, how would you rank them? I'd rank them:

    1) O-Line - I don't think the O-Line has ever gone two games and only given up two sacks

    2) Schaub - I said it in the Panthers game thread, but the only instance of which I can think that a single player has come in and made more of an impact than Schaub is Steve Nash with the Suns, at least in the past 10 years or so.

    3) Front seven - I think most people knew they would gel and get good, but nobody thought it was happen this quickly.

Schaub and the O line are feeding off each other. I think the OL appreciates the fact that if they give Schaub enough time he is gonna hit a reciever in stride and have a chance for a big play. In turn they know if they do err, he is probably gonna throw the ball away, and not panic and not throw an interception or take a 15 yard sack. Nor is he gonna dump it off to Ahman for a 1 yard reception at the first sign of pressure, he is gonna buy some time with his legs, and make mostly good decisions.

It also helps that Kubiak isn't Capers predictable with his play calling, and we actually pass out of running formations and run out of passing formations once in a while.

Also I know these are professionals and they did their best for Carr, but when a consequence of bad performance is that your QB gets hit...it helps if you actually like said QB..I don't care what anyone says. It could make the difference between making an honest effort to make a block and selling out body and soul to make it.

    1. Schaub

This won't surprise many of you that I feel this way. But I keep hearing guys like Ditka and others say the same. Even last year we were talking about, "how many of these sacks are David's fault because he makes poor decisions and holds on to the ball way too long???" I think you're seeing a ton of that. I think the OL was improving last season, even amidst injury. I think the team wins 2-3 more games with a guy like Schaub LAST SEASON than with Carr. I think they're more competitive in nearly every game.

    2. Defensive line

Holy crap. Seriously??? When you can't run the football, you rarely win. That's been the story so far. Pass all you want. Throw for 270 yards....good for you. Doesn't matter, because you can't run. And we'll force turnovers. Wow.

Schaub, Absolutely. Getting rid of Carr was the most important move this franchise has made to date. As long as he was here this team was going to flounder

I voted Shaub, but I have to say getting rid of Casserly was the turning point for this franchise.

We're fixing to do some serious damage- ;)

Schaub. Carr certainly wasn't the only problem last year, but he was the critical piece that made everything else on the offensive side look that much worse. If you can't make good reads or identify when you're about to be sacked, you make the O-Line look worse and/or cause turnovers. If you can't get balls to receivers in position to do anything with them, you can't make big plays. If teams know you're going to consistently throw short, it makes it that much harder to run the ball. If teams know that on 3rd and 10, if they leave a receiver open 5 yards down the field, you're going to throw to him and punt, they know how to kill a drive. Etc, Etc, Etc.

It was amazing to see highlights this weekend and on 3rd and whatever, consistently see Schaub throw it past the 1st down marker. It was good to see Schaub, when the defense is about to nail him, know to get rid of the ball - and to throw it forward to a moving target, leading to a 30 yard gain. It's the exact opposite of everything Carr did - granted, I only saw highlights, but the difference was stunning. It's basically anti-ChrisSimmsitis.

    Addition by Subtraction
    - Carr
    - Casserly
    - Capers

Texans are no longer a C- team

I believe Carr was the only problem. I really believe that. I saw how the team played last year even when Sage was in there. It was like a totally different team.

I think the offensive unit as a whole is a huge reason. Ahman Green and Owen Daniels have brought some different looks to our attack. Schaub has been great (especially compared to what we were used to), and the transformation of the O-Line is remarkable (regardless of how much you attribute that to the presence of Schaub); however I think it's the two of those working together the way they have that has made such a huge difference.

Also, IM(sadlyundereducated)O, missing from the poll is "2nd year under Kubiak's system." This scheme and these coaches are so many worlds better than anything we've had here, it's not even funny.

I heard Matt Schaub wakes up in the morning and pisses excellence!

I also heard Matt Schaub visited the Virgin Islands, upon his return they are now referred to as "the islands"

Good point, but Sage wasn't typically in there against the other team's first unit. It's easy to look good against the bench.

Man, I observed the opposite of that a lot last year, too.

Every time I watch this guy and other competent NFL QB's, then remember Carr's performance (read incompetence), and then remember my defense of the guy, I feel like such a blithering idiot.

its a combination of all of them. The valiant Kubiak has given the players a system in which the players believe in :)

I can't believe so many of you have the wrong opinion.

Ahman Green has meant more to the offense than What-His-Name at QB. Green is possibly the franchise's best back ever.

I voted the D7 since they shut down two run first teams so far.
