Has anyone heard the latest on Jordan Hill? I haven't heard anything since he limped off the court in LA. I hope it's not serious.
I will tell you whats up with him.....He isn't very good. The theft that Morey did on the knicks with the TMAC trade isn't looking like theft anymore. Sad day to be a Rockets fan
Hill hampered, Miller time delayed Jordan Hill left Tuesday's game against the Lakers with a sprained left ankle after landing on Lamar Odom's foot following a jump shot. Odom did come under Hill as he shot, but Hill said Odom was closing in to contest the shot, rather than dangerously extending his foot where Hill would land. "He put his hand up, his foot came under me and I landed on it," Hill said. "It's just a basketball thing. I don't think he meant to do what he did. "Injuries are going to occur. You have to be prepared for them. It's just real sore, swollen." Hill will be evaluated Friday in Houston and is considered questionable to play Saturday. ____________ Rockets center Brad Miller was encouraged with his stepped-up workouts but still could not estimate when he would return from a sore right knee. Miller, initially expected to be out for a week, has missed the Rockets' last 14 games. "There is no residual swelling like last week," Miller said. "I'm trying to push it, see what we can do." Miller said there is no target date yet for his return, "but we're coming close to the point to come up with one." Rockets athletic trainer Keith Jones said Miller is day-to-day Hill hampered, Miller time delayed
We should probably deal Miller out of respect. He doesn't have a lot of time left and I doubt he wants to spend it on a struggling team.
Too bad there aren't many teams who want to take Miller's $4.4M this season and $4.752M next season "out of respect."
Chris Bosh would've said: "Lamar's gotta watch what he's doing, don't come too close to me while I'm shooting a jumper, I mean we all got a family to feed here..."
All you need is one. Teams that are contending could always use a veteran post presence. We know Chicago tried hard to lure him back this summer. I don't expect there to be a big market for Brad or to get back anything of value; but I bet Adelman wasn't selling him on the idea of playing for a lottery team this summer.
He's playing out of position... And, since Lowry is starting/Miller hurt, there's no play-maker on the second unit.
Still boggles my mind as to why we offered that much to him. Surely we could have gotten a discount with the Adelman factor.
I seem to remember that we weren't the only team out there with offers for Brad during free agency. Last year was definitely a seller's market for FAs.
We DID get a "discount" for Miller. Brad had a couple of multi-year offers at the full MLE. I'd be interested to see if the Lakers would want Miller as a "stretch 5" for another Finals run. They can absorb Miller via their Vujacic TPE, but Jerry Buss doesn't want to pay $8.8M+ for Brad Miller. Of course, the Rockets would have to take back some salary, and there isn't anyone making over $2M who the Lakers would want to trade AND who the Rockets would want. One guy I wouldn't mind getting back from LA is Joe Smith. Dude is one of the most respected players in the league and a (once-) great post defender. He would have a lot to teach Hill and Patterson about defense and professionalism. Still, I don't see Dr. Buss agreeing to take on Miller's salary.
Goes to illustrate how expensive big men can be, even an older one who doesn't exactly play "big" has a high market price. If you are close to 7'' tall, as long as you are not mentally or physcially disabled, there is an decent chance at an NBA job for you. Joe Smith is going to the Utah Jazz. They people love their prophet there.
(((LOL))) Your excuse for Jordan Hill is no playmaker on the second unit? Wow. He started for a couple of games when Chuck was hurt and he still sucked. He could play with Chris Paul at the 2 and Rondo at the 1 and he would still turn the ball over 5 times a game because he has NO HANDS and NO COORDINATION! Bust.
Going through some family issues, which is having a negative effect on his game. I hope he gets through it.
