since you've been on clutchcity, what's the craziest thing you've said (rockets related)? what have you predicted or argued for that turned out dead wrong and embarasses you just to think about?

I once said that Steve Francis would go down as the 2nd greatest pg of all-time (Magic Johnson).

I said that Eddie Griffin would challenge Hakeem's blocked shots record.

I defended the Cato contract at the time of signing. "We don't have to worry about replacing Hakeem." LOL

I said it was blasphemous to consider trading Eddie Griffin for Rashard Lewis.

Check your ego in at the door. Just how wrong have you been?

    1. Shandon Anderson will be everything we hoped Scottie Pippen would be for us.

    2. Eddie Griffin is the next great NBA PF.

    3. Michael Dickerson will be the next Joe Dumars (though in my defense, he was a good player before injuries ruined his career).

i predicted Yao Ming was the real deal and the Rockets should draft him . Props to the team for doing so and not give a f&*k what all the "experts" said.

My worst thing I've said (I never say anything thats not either genius or just correct) is that I thought
Roy Rogers would be a good fit for the Rockets.

I said there was no way that Duncan would resign with the Spurs after DRob retired.

When Maurice Taylor signed for 1 mil for one season -leading to a long term 6 yr 48 mil contract - we were set long term at Power forward.

When we made the draft day trade for rights to Griffin -we were set at the 4 long term....

When we signed Brent Price -I thought our point guard spot was set- a shooter to spread the floor

I once said that Mutombo was a barely-moving fossil, and shouldnt be signed to backup Yao Ming.

Mutombo proved me wrong by simply wagging his fingers......

I was starting to gravitate toward the fire JVG camp, and I argued that dropping the ball with Larry Brown was one of the biggest mistakes we'd made in years.

I was a huge supporter of the Mo Taylor signing and pushed back against everyone who complained about it.

I thought we were set for a decade when we got Eddie Griffin.

I know there's more, but I can't think of them right now. I'm sure there are a lot of people I thought we should acquire who turned out to be awful.

Come to think of it, I was pretty convinced that Derek Fisher would have been perfect for this team ....

For some crazy reason, upon signing T-mac, I said Yao Ming would average 5 apg and begin to finally revolutionize the center's role..

    And boy was I wrong.

    :(

Going crazy and felt that Mo T was gonna be a stud at PF when we signed him. And that he'll start averaging double figures since he's on the Rox and out of Clippers and will really care.

Worrying about how we are gonna afford 3 max contracts with Yao, Steve, and EDDIE GRIFFIN.

I said that the combination of Adrian Griffin and Eric Piatkowski would more than make up for the loss of James Posey.

When you really think about it, I'm pretty sure RIET was the only one who called that situation correctly(though signing JJ eased the blow considerably).

Recently - I said they should fire CD and Van Gundy.

I'd still be ok with that, though.

For something kind of out there - I argued last year that Ron Artest/Tinsley/Pollard would be a better package than Tmac/Howard/Lue. I was going on the yin/yang thing. Would have been interesting. :).

Here's one just for the books : I think I always hated Cuttino most. I always thought Francis was better than Cuttino, and Cuttino was in the way. Wrong.

Of course, that's all moot now that we have Tmac. Neither one of those guys is in the same solar system with Tmac.

When Eddie Griffin fired shots at his girlfriend and got in trouble again. I said he was young and let's give him another chance. Rockets soon cut him.

I think you might be right on that one, it's still too early to tell. 5 dimes /game is not out of question with Yao's passing ability and court vision and when he passes to TMac, it's almost surely be a score and an assist for Yao.
