None, you psycho. ------------------ 2000-2001 Rockets Game Formulas: End of 1st quarter: "They're playing so well!" 2nd: "What a great game!" 3rd: "Theres no way they can lose now!" 4th: "What the ******* **** happened?!!" Revote! Revote! Revote!...... Rocket's Championship 2001!!
It's alright Bush won! Go cry with the rest of ya Democratic cry-babies. Go make noise because that is all ya seem to be doing lately. I'll take your dimpled ballots and throw them in the trash can! It's over! You people won't take my guns away. All of you people who want gun control, and taking away our arms, I got two words fer ya: 2nd Admendment!!!!!...Excuse me while I go to the ice box and finish the leftover squirrel. ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
I'll be damn! The deer go BOOM! ------------------ [This message has been edited by CriscoKidd (edited November 29, 2000).]
Well seeing Bush got in then i would have to say some at a minimum semi-automatic, more likely fully automatic gun and maybe as a back-up a bazooka... ------------------ "It's incredible to see how he [Mobley] can beat his guy one-on-one every time. That is a tremendous talent. The combination of Steve and Cuttino, I think, is wonderful in the backcourt." --the Dream
Bush has not won, and it's not near over. Just cause some biased secretary of state who's Bush's campaign co-chairman certifies something means absolutely nothing whatsoever. Everyone knew it was going to be up to the courts all along, and it is. Bush hasn't won sh*t. And if the courts do what's right and count every vote the way it should be in a democracy, IMO he won't anytime soon. (I know this isn't what the thread is about, so please go on. Just wanted to get that off my chest to a certain unknowledgable Republican in this thread.) ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! .270 might not have enough stopping power,I remember my Dad was going to get me one to hunt when I was a kid because it has a very light kick. ------------------ Mitch Meluskey...The real Slim Shady
I wish it was over (stock market is a killer about now) but it's not even close. If Gore can get the court to agree to do a full recount of Dade and Palm Beach counties, including those 10,000 that weren't counted the first time around, not only will it go on but I honestly think he'll win provided Bush supporters can't stop the recount again like in Miami-Dade. Meanwhile, on topic... ------------------ President of the Jason Collier fan club! Looking for next year's Jason Collier or Dan Langhi? If you are really into the sport of it, why not just hunt one with a bowie knife. Now, that seems like a sport! ------------------ Mmmmmmm. Sacrelicious.
Yea the .270 is mentioned so much but, I heard a lack of knock down power. I guess I'm looking for a good combination of acceptable recoil and knockdown power. Maybe my choice is .30-06. I currently have an 1891 Argentine Mauser (7.65 ammo), which is good on knock down ability, very accurate, and good on kick, but its old, and high maintanence, and It's unsuitable for a scope. (Yea you could have one put on by the gunsmith but costs too much) Anyway I need a second one for the 100-125+ yrd. distance.(obviously with a scope). ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
Jeff, If I could get away with it, I'd do it. I'm good, but not that good! ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
I have only hunted with a .270. IMO, it has plenty of power to hunt deer within a reasonable range(<200 yards). My Dad hunts with a .30-.06. More power, more range. I don't think I'd buy a 7mm unless I was going to hunt bigger game. ------------------ "The world is filled with mediocrity; rise above it. Distinguish yourself!!!"
How the hell did this turn into a political debate? I just don't think that killing a completely harmless and defensless animal can be considered sport. I never once mentioned Governor. Texas Moron, nor did I mention President Gore. I was commenting on your lovely "sport". Hunters have some kind of nasty blood-lust, and it scares the sh*t out of me. I will stick to my original statement, you psycho. ------------------ 2000-2001 Rockets Game Formulas: End of 1st quarter: "They're playing so well!" 2nd: "What a great game!" 3rd: "Theres no way they can lose now!" 4th: "What the ******* **** happened?!!" I'm one psycho with a nastyblood-lust. To think that there are thousands more just like me. Oh no. ------------------ "The world is filled with mediocrity; rise above it. Distinguish yourself!!!"
ZRB, Yeah, and all non-hunters are all bunch of tofu eating pansies. And, they don't scare me in the least. Okay, that was just to produce a statement similar to ZRB's, but from a hunting supporter's perspective. So, Jeff, leave me alone. There is nothing wrong with most hunters. Sure, there are some loonies amid the hunting ranks, but that is true for any group. Also, how is fishing any different than hunting? At least hunters don't put the bullets in the bait..... And, I love to fish. I've never been deer hunting, in fact, the only "hunting" I've done was as a young teen shooting birds. We didn't eat them, just kept their wings. Plus, shooting birds with BB guns is pretty challenging, especially when some of them were in flight. The last bird I killed was a mockingbird. It was near the top of a tall pine tree about 30 ft away and about 40 or so feet up. I didn't think I'd hit him, but I did. Then after I walked up to it, I started thinking of how the mockingbird is the State Bird of Texas and all..... I don't think I've shot another animal since. But, most of my family hunts. And, I have a strong desire to go deer hunting. A friend of mine has offered to take me out to his lease sometime this winter. I like the taste of venison, and absolutely love deer sausage... mmmmmmmm. I'd also like to see if I could clean the deer. To say it's not a sport is to discount one of the meanings of the word "sport". To say it's not challenging is simply put, false. A friend of mine was telling me how he had gone hunting and missed. And, this guy was in the U.S. Army, and he knows how to shoot. He wasn't using a scope, but you get the idea. ------------------ "I have a DREAM.........his name's Hakeem." DREAMer's Rocket Page
Roxran, Do you eat the deer meat? If so, it's likely that the only difference between you and most of the people who are critizing you is that they have to have other people kill the harmless and defenseless animal for them (with the exception of the vegetarians among us, obviously). I've never been hunting (and I really don't intend to start), but I don't see how any meat-eater can criticize someone who hunts. Does anyone really think the "commercial" killers are any more humane than "sport" killers? I'll have to admit, I'm among those who have to have others do the killing for me--I want no part of it--but I'm certainly not going to be critical of those who do hunt. ------------------
Forget the knife, Jeff, I wanna see someojne chase down a deer and take it down with his teeth. That person can then be the new president. ------------------ EZLN
