I can't see a problem with this. Same thing as normal ID... just more effective ;). As long as genetic information, etc, isn't distributed to private corporations... what's the problem?

I think I would have a serious problem with someone planting a micro-chip with all my personal information on my person. It scares me, kind of sounds like the mark of the beast in the book of Revelations.

I don't think the card itself is a violation of privacy. I think that people are scared that it will be used to violate their privacy.

A driver's liscence now has enough information on it to violate your privacy. And the FBI and CIA have the resources now to dig up anything they want to on anyone. The card will make it easier, IMO. Perhaps there should be a code of conduct in using the new ID's. Or that they could tell whether or not a person has been in jail or something, but not what for? I don't know if it would help, but it seems like an idea. (I probably sound stupid). Like the article said though, the airlines could use it to verify who you were, but not have access to all of your information.

There should be some regulations, I think. But I am all for keeping our country safe.

If its man made it can be unmade. This is not a good idea.

I have thought the same thing. First ID cards, then they'll want to put a microchip in your head, like some people are already doing with their pets. If those prophecies are literal, then I'm afraid the mark of the beast will be something like that... scary.

Also, I'd be afraid my card would get lost or stolen, and then what? Not to mention all the violations of privacy associated with this.

Like I said, the idea itself is not terribly bad. But there is huge potential for it to turn out bad!
