Thats a hat thats worn where the new era sticker was and thats just dirt on his hand. I know we play them next but was a thread necessary here?
I noticed that on the hat. I think it's just where a sticker was removed. If we see something suspicious when he faces us, we'll cross that bridge then.
Sticker thing makes no sense. Adhesive isn't going to do that much damage and I don't think the players would get hats like that. I've read that he's just rubbing that area with rosin, which is "legal." He's done it throughout his career apparently... Tonight was the first time I noticed it. Now I'll look into the hand. My findings could be less conclusive.
If you were going to put some illegal substance on your hat for use during the game, choosing the TOP of the brim seems ridiculously stupid. I'm sure it is nothing.
can't trust anyone that tries to get in his yoga workout while he pitches. If opposing managers can get on Morton for chewing gum, then I see no reason why not to always be cautious. Trust no one, scully.
I saw it, too - but based on the results (a rocky inning that teetered on near cataclysmic collapse), if it's an illegal substance designed to make him pitch better, he's doing it way wrong.
Look at Kershaw's hat. Saliva on the hat more than anything else. Or dirt on the brim. My old Stros hat with sweat turned brownish. Pitchers are superstitious freaks.
