After acquiring Battier, I'm getting too worried about our PF position. It's not still clear if Stro is really included on the deal or Howard...How can we resolve that? Are we satisfied with Head as our backup SG? There's also a glaring need for a backup PG and bsckup C.....

Apparently JVG likes what he's seen out of Chuck Hayes.

For the team's sake, let's hope he's not our primary backup 4 next season.

On the bright side, the Gay jokes will be curtailed. On the gloomy side, we will have to recycle our Luther-an jokes for another year.

One report in the Chronicle says that Battier will play a lot of Power Forward.

Who knows. Maybe it will be Power Forward by commitee, Novak, Battier, JHo and Hayes.

I like the deal. In battier we have a solid defender, good shooter, high bball iq guy.

Gone is the r****d ,"im lost, but I can dunk" swift. The only thing is giving up rudy g. he could be good or not pan out at all.

This trade leaves a small hole for us at the 4. We need to sign Chris Wilcox who can rebound a block shots.

Also, I think we might be getting something or someone else along with shane. TE or another player from a third team?

So, if i were the GM (ha), i'd sign chris wilcox and maybe james(if cap works).

The more I think about it, the more I get the feeling that they're going to do something stupid like trade for P.J. Brown or sign someone terrible like Keith Van Horn or Radmanovic.

they're talking about us signing James or Claxton. We are getting older by the minute.

We say that we need to get younger and more athletic, but we trade Rudy Gay and Swift for Battier, and we are going to sign guys over 30 in the offseason.

Again, I have never been so disappointed. We need to get another pick from Memphis or this deal should not go through lopsided.

The few times I saw Gay on television, he didn't show much effort. Maybe that's just sampling error-- sorry, Morey-- or, maybe, it's a trend. Battier looks like a solid effort player for the next 3-5 years; basically, he's part of our window of opportunity, our Mario Ellie. Surely that's management's thinking...

Novak and Frahm could be the outside shooters who finally make consistently.

I hope V Span and/or Mike James can bring something. Or Sam Cassell!

I guess there's still hope. Clearly JVG/CD/Morey/Les are trying to win this year. Mostly we're going to have to hope our big two are healthy.
