A Howlin' Wolf bootleg from the Netherlands that I bought in a record store in New York a couple of years ago. Analog baby. Beats the crap out of digital!
People Under the Stairs- OST Soundbombing III Miles Davis - Kind of Blue Jazzy Jeff - The Magnificent Beatles - Abbey Road (available on repress....can you believe it) ....just to name a few. Music just sounds better to me on vinyl!
The first two albums that I ever bought were, "Moving Pictures"-Rush and "Back In Black"-ACDC. Not bad for a first timmer, huh. I was 7 years old.
My first purchase of vinyl was The 5th Dimension’s "Love's Lines Angles & Rhymes" I'm listening to "The Best of the Guess Who" released June 1971. Last weekend the Archive of Contemporary music had one of their twice a year "yard sale" I'm talking 1st pressings and out of catalogue MINT albums. Prices from $3 to serious collector's $250. I spent $100 and got 15 albums. Ry Cooder XTC import Gentle Giant (my first live show) Peter Gabriel Just to name a few. I have about 1300 albums now and counting. I love my vinyl! Have a great weekend all! I'm off to the river!
I have six LPs (all orginals), and I don't even have a record player yet. They're six of my favorite albums. I guess you could just call 'em collectibles. Television (Marquee Moon) Clash (London Calling) Velvet Underground (Loaded) De la Soul (3 Feet High and Rising) Neil Young (After the Goldrush) Bob Dylan (Bob Dylan) In my CD player are the new: El-P, Sonic Youth, Guided By Voices, Doves, Korn, DJ Shadow.
I had to sell my record player because the wood framed floor of my apartment bounced so much that I couldn't listen to it (and I needed some cash). I'll buy one sooner or later and I'll be listening to The Beach Boys Love You on it again.
