Sorry if this has been posted before, I havnt been here for a long time and the search thing doesnt work. So can someone help me caompare the costs, the features, the games , and whatever??? I'd just like some opinions with which one is better. thank you very much
I have an X-Box and I absolutely love it. PS2 has more games, but the quality of the games of the X-Box is very good. I reccommend you buy the X-Box.
PS2 PS2 PS2........Better game selection, compatible with PS1 games, games come out quicker, more companies choose PS2, and I've had it for a yr and never looked back.
YESSSSS!!!And I can't wait. PS2 has a problem with disc read error, I only had it for about a year and a half and it already screwed up. X box is way better IMO.
I have really enjoyed my PS2. Plus Satan makes X-Box. . . . .so you have to take that into consideration
I have a PS2 and like it. Only played XBOX a few times, it's good too....I don't like the controller though.
X-box is better graphically, but PS 2 is MILES MILES MILES better content wise. X-box has very average games, PS2 has a ton of those too, but a few cracking great ones like GTA etc. For the record I have them both as well as a Game Cube...the game cube is my favorite as I can play with my 4 year old, and Zelda is flat out wonderful. DD
We've got one. One of the things I like about the Gamecube is how portable it is. Super easy to take to a friend of the kids during a visit. The graphics are very good as well. Very kid-friendly.
Had XBox and PS2. Only bought XBox for Halo and Oddworld. Good box, but when it gets down to it, I prefer the PS2
thanks, but what are the prices (without those game "bundles" included) and other stuff like that? do they both have dvd players ? Also, which one has better basketball games? thanks
If you have broadband, go withX-BOX and spend the extra $50 on Live. If you don't or don't wanna play others, go for PS2. I would've gotten X-BOX, 'cept I couldn't find a feasible way to get the network link upstairs (still doesn't work). X-BOX is a little cheaper, I believe, and apparently you can surf the net (or will be able to soon) and might be upgradable (?). Rumors have it that PS3 is coming out within 2 or 3 years, so I'd wait if you want a Playstation console. Best graphics and upgrades are only on PC, though.
Uhh I think PS2 has online games as well. Or at least that is what this piece of equipment says. http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/products/product.asp?pf_id=232354
PS2 easily. I just saw a leaked teaser of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater earlier today and was blown away. I like PS2 and GC about equally. I disagree with PS2's online capabilites "bombing". But yeah, if you're interested in online gaming and have broadband, then an Xbox w/ Xbox Live is probably the way to go.
XBox easily. Actually.....both are good. Get both!!!! I support X Box. But PS2 would be nice. Go buy a fake one.
The prices are the same for both systems, and they are due for a price cut pretty soon making them $150 each. Both can play DVD's but you'll need an extra component to make it work on the XBox, you can probably find a bundle that comes with it now, if you buy it seperate I think it's $20-30. As far as which is better, I would have to say the PS2. There's just so many more games for it. The sports games are about the same on either one, and all the big ones are released on both systems.
I have both, and I almost never touch my PS 2 anymore. PS2 is a fine console with the best game library, but it just isn't as powerful as xbox and the games don't look as good as a consequence. Xbox' game library is pretty decent and will only get better. Plus, xbox live blows ps2 online out of the water. As far as price goes, xbox is sold with 2 free games for 200, PS2 is 200 also, but you don't get 2 games with it. You may want to wait a few weeks, there is speculation that xbox is going to drop its price 50 bucks. Sony announced thtat they were definitely NOT going to drop the PS2 price last week though.
One of the big guys at software publisher Capcom accused Sony the other day of purposely making PS2's breakable so that people would have to buy new ones.
