I didn't find a thread on available FA's specifically (this but it's been discussed here) Absent major surprises, I think it is likely that Alston, Head, Tmac, Howard, Bogans and Yao are here next year. I wouldn't mind wesley back for 20 mpg off the bench, but we need a starting SG badly. I think Head is developing as a player and can very limited duty at PG. Alston, Head, Bogans, Wesley, Tmac, Howard and Yao are only 7. We need a starting SG in the worst way. Who's available? Any legitimate candidates that we can deal swift for?
Am I mistaken or does Dikembe have 1 year left on his contract? He does according to the source I'm looking at.

Please notice that sharpshooters Jason Terry and Bobby Jackson are on that list. I hate both of them. But .. damn, they can shoot.
http://www.realgm.com/src_freeagents/2006/ Not a whole lot out there at SG from the looks of that list. As far as PF, I think we're going to live with Howard, Stro, and Hayes (barring a trade) for at least another year because of the contracts of Howard and Stro. I think a shooter should be priority anyway over PF, especially if Stro continues to improve. Out of all those guys, I'd love to get Harpring for the MLE. Devean George is also intriguing, but I haven't seen him recently. Obviously either of these guys would send Tracy back to SG. Then we'd have to look to the draft for a shooter...JJ Redick pops in mind, and I think he will easily be there with our pick. Might even be able to trade down for him. I'd like to see Wesley re-signed to come off the bench, but if we sign a 2 or 3 I think we'll have to part with him. Another possibility out there is Cassell. Sooner or later Livingston is going to be given his shot as a starter, so they may go ahead and let Sam shop around. I'm not so sure he fits in with what Van Gundy wants, but he's definitely a proven winner. Here's what I could see as of now for next years lineup: Yao/Deke Stro/Howard/Hayes Harpring or George/Bogans Mcgrady/Redick or other/Head Alston/V-Span/Cheap FA or Sura if healthy Obviously this is very preliminary but that is a direction I could see us going. Looks like it's going to be a long offseason though...it's not even April yet.
Caron Butler was extended. I don't believe we'll be drafting a SF/ pick up a SF through free agency that forces McGrady back to SG position. That will hurt his back even more guarding those shorter players.
if your gonna move TMAC to the two gaurd position to get a shooter, we should get vladimir radmonvic cuz he is younger and fearless cuz he's a european
? Seems to me that having to guard bigger SF's in the post would hurt his back more than playing perimiter defense. At this point, we should just wishfully assume that Tracy's back will be ok next year and not so fragile...
SF's are the ones usually on the perimeter. (with the exception of LeBron) Shooting guards are the ones that are smaller, quicker, agile, and drives to the hoop. (Kobe, Wade)
Dunleavy is shooting .251 from 3-pt range. I don't think we need another sharp-eyed shooter like that on the Rox.
