Sitting at home collecting checks from the Rockets until 2012, at which point he will receive even more deferred money for his many years of service to the organization, a la Jeff Bagwell.

He signed a seven year, $17 million contract before the 1998-99 season.

wow.... i´d never thought, that maloney´s contract would finally end..... but after this season this nightmare is finally over....

i remember when they cut him along with stacey augmon and don maclean back then in 1999.... with 5 or 6 years left..... heck, they even managed to trade moochie....

The last time a thread was started on this guy I think someone said he had a record company in Houston. Or he at least was in the process of starting one.

After he was cut, the Rockets got him to agree to take his salary over 12 more years instead of 6 more years. So while he will be off the books after next season, he will be paid for years to come.

I saw him at a club about a year ago. His friends talked about how he will be back in the NBA because teams always need good white shooters!

That never came to pass, but I read somewhere he was trying to start music company, like X-Pac said.

I use to see him from time to time at the Velvet Melvin or Woodrows playing Golden Tee. In fact, he was always playing Golden Tee.

    Nice guy.

He and Arthur Yoria (local singer-songwriter) have a small record label. Matt makes music himself, which I've never heard, but has been compared to stuff like Depeche Mode. It's actually supposed to be not bad.

If he's dating outlaw, then he's switched teams, because he used to date a female high school classmate of mine (yes - after we had graduated - sickos ;) ). I've also seen him at a gentlemen's club and he definitely wasn't interested in the bouncers or other visitors.
