Remember this guy? He played at UNC with Vince and Jamison, and when it got ready to jump into the NBA, he didn't want to. Not sure why. But where is he now? Is he still playing ball for a nice amount of money with less of a spotlight and a celebrity status? He was a true PG. He ran the floor, he could see the floor well. I would compare his style of play to a Eric Snow. Maybe take off some pounds and a 3-4 inches on his heigth.

Who remembers Ed? From what I can remember, he was NBA material.

That just sucks. I wish he would've tried the NBA. I think he would've raised some eyebrows.

Ed Cota was a super player in UNC. He was getting about 16 and 8 I believe. He didn't want to jump in the NBA because they were playing a "starting 6". I guess he wanted to show what he can do by himself??? I don't know, but I believe he came out his sr year and was the 55th pick or somewhere around there. I think he's 5'10 and kinda chubby like baron davis except with no athletic ability.

Wrong. No where close. 6'2'', 203lbs. More like a taller version of Speedy Claxton.

Cota was nothing like Speedy. Cota's problem was that he was a good passer, actually a great passer, in college, but he didn't have a consistent enough outside shot to translate to the NBA, was slow, chubby, and unathletic, and not in great shape.

That sounds more like Kahlid El-Amin, the point guard for UConn when they won the Final Four back in 99. He was short and stocky. He was about 5'10, 225. Last I heard was playing in Isreal.

Ed Cota was not chubby at Carolina. He might be now...

I think he's number 1 all time in UNC history in assists, just ahead of Kenny Smith...

If Cota had gone to any other school, not sure how many people here would know who he is. He is basically God Shammgod.
