A decent point guard that we have to over pay for the next 6 years? Or, a young PG who hasn't proven much, but the chance to sign a good point guard in the next 3 years? Stop complaining about not signing any PGs. Take a long hard look at the contracts the guys like Barry and Fisher signed. Do you honestly think those guys are worth that much? The Rockets are preparing for a strong 5-8 year run starting in the next 2-3 seasons. Signing a PG out of this year's FA group is not imperative. I'm glad, for once, CD is not throwing cash at guys who really don't deserve it (see Moochie and a bevy of other over played former Rockets). The world will still spin when the season starts if we go at it with Wilks and Lue. Is it ideal? No. Is it the end of the world? No. Patience folks. If we don't have a strong (doesn't have to be elite, unless you folks thought Sam C and Kenny Smith were elite) PG by the 2006 season, I'll just on the bandwagon with y'all. Until then, relax and let this offseason continue to play out.
Barry was....Fisher isn't. But...I really don't give a rats patootie what kind of contract a player gets as long as the team wins. DD
OK C. Dawson ... I mean HTownND, we will be calm. KNOW GO OUT AND BUILD YOUR TEAM AROUND TMAC AND MING! Thank you,
I wanted a young PG around 23-25; one that is hungy and has a lot to prove. One that is smart and team oriented, but also can hit the outside shot if need be. Not a scoring machie. But rather a very good PG (near all-star). Yes, patience. In the mean time, Lue is going to surprise a lot of Rocket fans.
