    Could we package Cat and KT to Cleveland for Miller? I don't care if this is the deal but I think we need to get a better "pointguard" and unleash Steve to go apesh*t on the other team. I don't care if it's Miller or MoT that goes instead of KT. You get the idea.

    NOOOOOOOO!

    I don't get the idea.

    What I love about these "move Stevie to the 2" deals is that they are usually proposed by the same people (not you backwardhead) that b**** and moan about Stevie's defense. Okay, so let's move him to the 2 and see exactly how bad he gets torched.

    The ONLY way I see Stevie getting the majority of minutes at the 2 is if Cedric Boseman falls into our laps sometime in the next couple of years. That way we could justify playing Steve at the two yet still let him guard the other team's PG.

    Sorry backwardhead if I am being harsh...this isn't specifically towards you--it's just that this topic has been discussed ad nauseum, and it had even spurred me to make a "joke thread" about it a couple days back.

    just because you play the 2 doesn't mean you have to guard the other team's 2...

    I have to agree. If you play the 2 guard on offense, you should be playing defense on the 2 guard. There is a reason point guards are usually smaller than 2 guards.

    Steve would get burned bad if he switched positions. Right now he has the athletic ability to dominate PG's defensively. He just hasn't made up his mind to do it.

    How many years did it take AI to have his revelation?

    I do not like getting rid of Cat to get a so called pg. Yes, I have been one of the loudest against Francis as a pg and I know we are probably run out of time to get something done about it. In the past I have suggested my own form of therapy/training for Wink. Also I said we should ease him up of some of the duties and give some more to Cat who did a reasonable, I thought, job in his rookie year. Also that happen in Detroit when Dumars arrived. The fact that Cat can score 25 a night is not something I want to give up to get Miller or any other point guard.

    Just last night I was thinking that Rudy has too many confinements on Francis. If Stevie does have the ability to be creative we would never know it from this system. Almost all the possessions are walked up be Wink. To me that cuts out a number of opportunities for him to show creative. Now all of this might be because Wink had endless turnovers in his rookie year.

    I am thinking that if Rudy sets him free and promote or demand more running we may just be able to see a more productive point guard. Afterall, all the great point guards made some of their best plays in transition. I do not think Magic, Isiah and Stockton had to rely so much on the coach to call the play.

    Probably a tactician like Crispee can tell me why this will not work. In summary then:

    1. Lock him in a room to watch 8 hours a day for two weeks videos of Magic, Stockton and Isiah;
    2. Shift some of pg duties to Cat.
    3. Give more freedom to run the show.

    Obviously--that was my whole point about Bozeman. But let's say for a second that we did trade away for Miller somehow w/o trading francis. Do you put Miller on all the 2 guards from now on? He's smaller than Steve! Tougher, maybe, but still not a good matchup IMO.

    But like I said, if a guy like Bozeman, who is 6-6 or 6-7, came in to run the point, I think you could get away with Steve at the 2, because Boze could just matchup with the opposing 2 guard.
