First of all - don't misunderstand this post: I'm not giving up hope for this year. Just thinking about Yao's future... Yao is talented and big, and he has moves, but I think it's pretty clear that he needs polishing (as most rookies do). I don't think he's gonna get that until after the season is over. When the Rox are able to take their time, look more closely at game footage, and tutor Yao more on NBA basketball. Knowing that he started the season immediately after playing a season in China, that he barely got to meet any teammates before starting the season with them, that he's been in the country and with the Rockets for less than 6 months, and that he's a rookie in the toughest basketball organization in the world... AND.... after seeing his performance so far this season, what do you think Yao's gonna be like next year? Personally, I believe that Yao is gonna be a LOT better. He's had those things going against him coming into this season, and they won't hinder him next season. -- droxford
Moderate Improvement. I don't know how he can just change completely and start dominating. But he won't be WORSE THAN NOW. I think that he will have more experience and will be a little stronger. But still...nobody becomes awesome after 1 year.
