If I were betting, I'd say we win Gold. But that's only because the US still fields the strongest team in the Olympics. It's hardly a "lock" the way I felt before the previous 3 Olympic teams.
I think that a team led by Larry Brown and Greg Popovich will find a way to win it all. Besides, they do have Tim Duncan, the best player in this turnament. GOLD!!
This was all the motivation I needed to really get behind our team in Athens. GOLD baby!! USA! USA! USA!
You do realise the US almost got bronze in Sydney? The win in the semi final only came thanks to a questionable no-call - 2 point win! I think they'll get gold - this game against a nation that doesn't really rank as a chance of getting a medal is a poor effort - but I don't think that'll matter - they'll find a way over it and won't lose another game! Having said that, I truly hope they don't win a thing! The team selection was weird and leaving so many stars at home (who weren't even asked to play) can't be a good thing!
I still believe team USA can win the GOLD medal but they will be forever remember as the first NBA stars led team to lose in Olympics.
