Tenchi rox, but watch it on dvd or dl from kazaa, the cartoon networked toned it down so much that its unwatchable. Nachabar on the other hand....... will be the next Peja!!!!! BELIEVE IT
I still don't understand why Boki hardly got any PT this season. It's not like we had great depth or something. If we used this season to develop young players like Boki, at least it's something worthwhile even we missed the playoffs. Some people said that's because we needed to win now but God damn how could you explain starting EG over more accomplished players like Taylor and KT then? Don't tell me it's not trying to develop him. The bad thing is that we missed the playoffs AND we failed to develop our young players like Boki, that's bascially no consolation prize. For your reference, Kings were a much deeper team than us and they're going to the playoffs, but they still found regular PT (20-25 mins coming off the bench) for Peja in his rookie season.
Newgirl, the only thing i can think of it that maybe rudy was trying to showcase glen rice this season - showing that he is still a capable nba player. that way he will be easier to trade. the fault with that thinking, though, is that rice should be easy to move regardless of his playing ability, considering his 9 million dollar salary is off the books after next year. *sigh* we're just stupid.
well actually Boki started like a game or so in the first part of the season ... after that he faded out of the rotation ... then we traded for posey, and the rest is ...
Boki got no PT even BEFORE we traded for Posey. We would rather play KT at SF than Boki. I really couldn't figure this out. *shaking head*
Oh.... I dunno, maybe 'cause he's a rookie? Rudy historically doesn't like to play rookies, Yao is the only real exception I can think of. And it doesn't make much sense to give much time to an untested, and from what we've heard, fairly soft rookie who needs time to develop when you're in the midst of a playoff run. If I was Rudy I wouldn't have played him either. I'd much rather have Posey out there defending than a teenager who isn't used to the physical NBA game.
he started 1 game against denver, where he got like 12 minutes. faded out of the rotation?....errr....he was never in the rotation, hes played double digit minutes in 3 games this season, 1 start, 2 blowout games.
JayZ750's take on this makes the most sense to me. No good shooter goes a whole year not playing. The excuses for no PT just don't make sense. The argument is maybe Nachbar just wasn't as good as they hoped/thought, and he might go down as a busted pick. Either his defense is non-existent (Langhi-ish), or his shot is weak (Langhi-ish), or a combination of both (cut-his-ass-ish).
Considering that the Rockets thought he was "NBA Ready" and scouted him and had him in here for workouts....then i would have to say their scouting was WAY OFF.
If Boki is really our small forward of the future, we need to develop him ON THE COURT, not stuck him on the bench. Kings found time to develop Peja in his rookie season when there's much more at stake than mere playoffs for them. Either Boki is not good enough to be worth developing (waste of a 1st round draft pick then), or I seriously question our coach's ability/way of developing young players. It didn't make much sense to me to put your SF of the future on the bench for the whole season.
Don't you remember Doc saying that Rudy had some "different" reason for not playing Nachbar and that it would run its course over time? That is as maddening a bit of info as I've ever read on this BBS.
Even if he gets off the bench next year - how much rust and lost confidence will there be? The damage may be irreversible.
What do Tim Breaux, Eldridge Recasner, Randy Livingston and Roderick Rhodes all have in common? They all played more minutes than Nachbar has this season. If youve been a Rockets fan for longer than 5 minutes you know that Rudy will play some of the worst, most talentless, unproven, cba scrubs just to see if he is "part of a lineup" that "works". That should give you some insight to what they really think of Bostjian Nachbar.
