Considering most of us are still high on the winning streak and mostly thinking positive, let's get a reading on your expectations for the rest of the season.

i still think a 2nd round appearance is over-achieving without yao.

but IF we go 4-1 in that tough 5-game streak next week, i could change my mind. :D

    playoffs playoffs playoffs

just like T-Mac said after the game....this streak does not mean anything if we don't make any noise in the playoffs.

I would be satisfied if we get out the first round. Either way I will be taking it one game at a time

A win against the Lakers and I'm all down for Contender status.

If this team can just get out of the first round and at least be competitive in the second round, I'll be happy. T-Mac needs to get that monkey off his back.

21+ game win streak and get past first round of playoffs, while going down fighting in second round.

That will suffice for this season without Yao.

TMac gets lot of heat from fans/media, undeservingly I might add. Without him we are mediocre to bad team, with him doesn't matter who else is playing we are a really GOOD team! For his sake, I hope we win a playoff series.

Past the first round so I can stop hearing those stupid analysts say Tmac can't get out of the first round..

I'm hoping for a championship though, we are going toe to toe with the best teams and winning.

We beat NOH without Yao and Landry!

I wouldn't say that. We did not play the Lakers, Spurs or Suns or say the Pistons during this run. We have just been taking care of business.

I just want to make the playoffs now that Yao is out. Might be too much to ask getting out of the first round. Depends on the matchup.

My expectations have been lowered since Yao got injured.

I'm already very proud of this team, but I want us to at least get to the second round.

and how have your expectations changed in the past 6 games (when Yao went out)?

Go ahead and admit it, you were just praying for playoffs then.

Anything beyond this point sans Yao is gravy. I do not expect the team to advance in the playoffs, nor will it be a disappointment if they are unable to.

I hate to say it, but I used to agree -- however now I think the bar will be advancing past the first round. All these fans piling on media types dismissing the Rockets would look silly if they lost in the first round, and the media types will respond with heavy T-Mac criticism if he doesn't advance. I don't understand it -- let them dismiss/ignore the Rockets for now. Much, much better if there are zero expectations placed on them.

Personally I'll just go with homecourt... if the Rockets somehow manage to get it, they should be expected to advance. I just want the monkey of never advancing in a single series off T-Mac's back so we can discuss new possibilities for the team next year rather than "Can T-Mac ever win a playoff series?".

Before the season started I expected them to win the title.

Now, I expect them to win a series or two depending on who they're matched up against. I won't be satisfied unless they make it to the second round. If they don't they might break up the best duo in the NBA, and that would be wrong, terrible and unneeded.

So are you saying that if they don't get past the first round, questioning whether T-Mac can ever win a playoff series is FAIR criticism... even having lost Yao so late in the season?

I know the pundits will harp on it. But is it a worthy criticism? Looks like most of the respondents to the poll (at least 8 in 10) won't be satisfied unless we get out of the first round.

All this winning seems to be pushing the bar on up there.

Get out of the first round for sure. Then people will start giving Rockets some credit.
