if adelman is indeed the coach? hayes may not back deke will retire all our white guys will give a chance at first half of the season wells may stay yao and tmac less offense load and more easy shots alston more freedom less pt battier may spend some time at PF tmac may play pg if they cannot find one they will try really hard to find a big 4 who can rebound and score i am not sure about head and snyder
I think what sad is that in the past 10 years this team has had more mgmt/players changes than anybody in the NBA!!! We have to have the record on new players coming in.
i remember players like doug christie, scott pollard, and lourence funderburke playing large roles on the kings under adleman... why do people think he won't play a guy who can't score? chuck will be back... mark my words. any coach would love to have this guy. deke on the other hand may choose retirement, but i'd bet that adleman would wnat him to stay. my guess is that we will see a large improvement in rafer AND billy. being able to create and drive instead of only being spot up shooters will only make them better. much better. i won't speculate on where players will play (shane at the 4 more next year) because that all depends on how the summer goes as far as roster moves are conserned.
I hope all that is true. I am not very familiar with Adelman so I don't know what his history with players is... mainly I know that Chuck has been "A Tubby kind of player" and now a "JVG type of player" so I just hope the trend continues and he is an "Adelman style player" I really do love the guys that are on this team. Even if some of them seem one dimensional, as a whole they are a solid group. Even Juwan grew on me when he stepped up during the time when Yao was down. The main problem for me is that I would just hate to have to root for two NBA teams next season. In order for that not to happen, Chuck has to be resigned in Houston. The hope is that the many things that are positives for him will outweigh his lack of an outside shot. Honestly, he can shoot short jumpers, but yall haven't seen anything but his hesitation. If someone trusts him to take them in a game situation that may help him to feel confident enough to actually take them and make them. As much as I loved JVG's defense, I think on the offensive end he told the 3 point shooters (ie Rafer, Shane and Luther) to shoot it if they were open, not hesitate... and told Chuck not to shoot unless he was right under the basket. Juwan, Tracy, and Yao, I figure knew what their roles were on the offensive end. Personally, I am going to be a ball full of anxiety all summer until I hear what Chuck's situation is... I can't even imagine how much more stress he feels.
This is so true, and most were bad choices. I think the two most logical conclusions about the Rockets is they either get lucky or get a new owner and management team. Otherwise, if you liked the last ten years, there is more to come.
