lets assume that the tmac deal goes through as reported. we would have:

    yao
    howard-mo-spoon
    jj-boki-ag
    tmac-pike-gains
    lue-wilks

now les also assume that we will use our MLE on a point guard like fisher, hudson, barry, etc...

the obvious choice is for a center, but with the trade exception, the rumors of bringing back eddie griffin for the million dollar exception, and the possibility that we may keep cato and use the TE in his place, the rockets have a real choice to make. keep him? trade him and jj for a 3? trade him for a 5 and let the trade exception run out?

so, what do you think will happen to mo? and if he is traded who is a likely target?

    Dream Scenario:

    Mo
    Trade Exception
    Future #1

    for

    Rashard
Booth (or whatever big contract they want to get rid of)

    Okay, back to reality.

    lol

People around here have always felt that Seattle is wanting to dump Lewis off for peanuts.

    Always baffled me.................

MoT probably sitting back relaxing, smoking a joint knowing that his contract makes him untradable.

Well, Seattle expressed that they are in desperate need of a PF and are willing to use Lewis as bait, they mentioned Chandler and Kwame Brown as being possible choices.

I doubt Seattle would want MoT, especially because of his contract. But you never know how desperate they are.

I think they would entertain the Lewis for Mo T trade.

They covetted him a couple of years ago, and they have 2 guys at the SF spot who are alike and Lewis is more expensive.

It would be worth a phone call.

DaDakota I would offer Seattle Mo and Boki for Lewis. That would be a huge coup if the rockets could pull that off.

The guy is instant offense. We may not be able to get a stud like Lewis, but there's a market for Mo. I hope the Rockets are working the phones to revamp everything. Yao lookslike the only one worth keeping (also JJ). Whay stop at Steve, Cat and Cato?

It's not sexy but you could do a Taylor for Croshere deal. Taylor is redundant if Howard is here. With Croshere at least you would have someone that could space the floor for Yao.

I doubt MoT goes anywhere unless he's traded for someone with just as bad of a contract and is even more useless than Mo.

I don't see why Philly would want him. They already have one overpaid ex rocket pf.

I don't think we can get rashard for him either.

Mo Taylor. Tyson Chandler. Kwame Brown.

Two of those players are top 2 overall picks, 21 years old, and on rookie contracts.

I could see Mo Taylor for Croshere, or some 3-way involving Philly with either McKie or Snow about it.

seattle is pondering an offer they got from the knicks that would send them K.Thomas for james and #12.

that gives me some satisfaction just knowing that i might have been right that a mo for james/daniels trade could've happened.

if they accept that trade they would have no need for mo, even as a back-up because they will have the "red shirt rookie" collison who didnt play last year.

what about this trade with chicage MoT + Pike + TE for Antonio DAvis + Eddie Robinson + 7th 0r 3rd draft pick.

Is Chi Town willing to swallow 1 bad contract for 2 and some cap flexability?

Mo actually has negative trade values because of his contract. It will be very difficult to move him. I would say that it will be easier to trade Howard than to trade Mo.

The luxury tax hits on June 30th, for contracts still on the roster, correct? Is Seattle over the luxury tax threshold? If so, if we took Booth and his remaining $19 million in contract, in exchange for the trade exception, Seattle could save millions not only in contractual obligations, but conceivably in luxury tax penalty if this gets them under the threshold (and also entities them to the luxury tax pool kickback). This would be a powerful bargaining chip in a negotiation with Seattle. Of course, it would put Les over the tax threshold, so it would probably not happen. That is, unless the Orlando deal also goes down before July 1st, and Orlando takes back more in Houston salary than they send us in return.

Maybe because the Rockets passed on Lewis for a bag of peanuts. Or Mirsad Turkan. Whichever.
