    Four contractors killed in Fallujah

Fallujah is known for their attacks on US troops. It's probably the most rebellious city in Iraq when it comes to the occupation. So, your going to have four contractors in two SUVs go to the town to do whatever work they were needing to be done alone without military escort or anything? This decision cost them their lives and it was a most disgusting display afterwards by the residents of Fallujah, including kids. I think our military should hit that place hard as can be.

I'll tell you what...if I were a civilian employee of one of these companies working in Iraq...there is no way I'm going over there to do any work. Some may call it bravery by going over there in a good cause. I call it crazy or stupid or both. You have to understand the Iraqis are not making distinctions between you and the military. The resistant Iraqis over there are going to kill any foreigners who don't belong the first chance they get....especially in Fallujah. Since you can't tell who is who, then you've got a death wish doing that kind of work. I applaud them in their efforts but now their no longer with us so what was the point other than for Iraqis to dance around burning cars and play with dead bodies?

A lot of people are willing to risk their lives to go to those dangerous places if they are paid big money by their standard. I know many field engineers working for oil companies go to dangerous places in Africa or Latin America for 200K a year and a good life insurance.

Yes, but we didn't invade those countries while currently occupying them. While they may be dangerous, their not going to be the danger level that Iraq presents. So, these people are doing this dangerous work all for money? That's a pretty huge gamble seeing how your not going to be around to get the salary. I guess his family gets something. If I'm a company who issued said person a life insurance policy, then I don't think I'm willing to cover(or pay the policy for) a person who goes into a violent town in an occupied country with a partial deathwish.

Life is more important than any money. I'm sorry some people don't see that.

This is true, however, some people enjoy what they do and this type of specialized field pays the big bucks...Having said that, I myself wouldn't do it in a country that we just recently invaded, however, I know a lot of Ex-pats and typically they are sheltered in the compound and away, for the most part, from harms way...
