The irony was that voters split their ballot when they elected Biden but did not deliver him a majority in the Senate. It took 2 runoffs in Georgia to even it out to 50. Even the 2020 exit polls showed that while voters didn't like Trump, they also didn't like America shifting far leftward and split the ticket on purpose. Then Joe does the impossible by displaying great legislative skills and passed big bills like CHIPS, IRA, Infrastructure Act, gun control reform and almost Immigration Reform. At the other end, he was a **** communicator. He didn't effectively use his pulpit while letting his cabinet platform on progressive issues. Those concerns washed away in 2022 when the Red Wave didn't come. I guess these operators assumed centrists like Never Trumpers became fully fledged democrats. Kamala would've benefitted from more time and separation from Biden. It was her challenge from not finding the correct split, and she turtled too much articulating that difference other than not being a cantankerous old white male. Maybe having more time and exposure with the American people would've helped connect her identity and presence to middle America. Maybe they should've timed Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and other celebrity endorsements closer to ballot time to counter program Trump's endorsements. These are likely secondary nitpicks. Overall I think voters punished her/Biden on cost of living and affordability issues that started in 2021. The messaging for male minorities weren't that great either. The tone sounded like "do better and be better" while women had a more catered message.
Yes and no - you already know what they have to ultimately do - you astutely pointed it out when you said that there seemed to not be enough focus on the healthcare and workers rights - focusing on that. Venture capitalists don't give a **** about poor people or the working class - however when they essentially go uncontested other than the attacks being they are "stupid" or Nazi's, they basically can paint themselves anyway that they want - on podcasts, in popular culture or elsewhere. - few pointed out that Elon Musk for example gets handouts from the government, that he has said that he would take all of his jobs overseas - that his working conditions are bad....... instead it is that he doesn't like trans people, that he isn't really a great engineer and that he is odd. He can fight those charges off
So when a reporter asks about lets a say a new bill a right wing representative is bringing up to a Democrat they should be like "**** them trans people"? I'm sorry I just don't agree that Democrats concentrated with trans issues being anywhere close to why they lost. The trans issues was 100% an inorganic issue spammed to us from the right. The Democrat strategy was to not talk about the issue unless it was brought up. It was never a center of their campaign.
It's not but its one of many They died by a thousand cuts Trans is just the example. The issue is ALWAYS brought up whether by republicans or their allies Rocket River
But I don't see how we can blame Democrats for this then? This is basically an issue revolving around how successful right wing politics is at galvanizing entire populations into moral panics with social media algorithms.
ITs not so much blaming but they are reacitonary If I know your left hand is shaking . . .i force you to your left hand over and over and over again and you brick shot after shot after shot It's not your fault but it is your problem Rocket River
Harris didn't discuss trans issues often - if at all after she became the nominee, for the very reason that it was a loser topic for the administration. The problem is how slow the administration was to react to it becoming a topic. The changes to Title XI for example are again admirable, but only hurt them politically. They made changes to the Affordable Care Act concerning transgendered people - it was discussed in the Biden State of the Union address and in a number of releases by the Administration.
These small measures of basic empathy towards trans people amongst a sea of spammed hatred that created a fake moral panic is not what lost them the voting demographic addicted to these social media algorithms. Those social media algorithms would frame Democrats as unhinged trans cultists who want to turn every child trans regardless of how they tackled the issue We have to call out the bad faith framing of caring about women's sports these people push. These are the same people who spam YouTube comment sections on wnba highlights making fun of wnba athletes. Making fun of these type of people is the correct course of action because you have to knock the wind out of their concern trolling and claims of being mean to the for their fake issues. The democrat party is bad at convincing the public these are fake issues spammed by terminally online losers.
It isn't the reason they lost - it is all intertwined though... and the administration was more involved than I think you remember.... but no, it wasn't the center of the campaign, just like immigration wasn't either - but they are examples of the administration being out of touch with most Americans.
Buddy this isn't an issue of Democrat politicians being out of touch with the concerns of Americans that are sincere concerns. A sincere American isn't worried about 6'8" trans LeBron wrecking the WNBA. That isn't a real issue. That is an issue conjured up by the way modern media interacts with the public. You made a post earlier about how the average American doesn't give a **** about Ukraine or trans issues and then here claim that the whole women in teams sports issue is a sincere issue Americans actually care about if they removed their faces from their social media algorithms for a few weeks. Americans don't care about this issue unless their faces are glued to their social media apps. How Democrats fix this systemic unsustainable issue of social media apps basically dictating what issues society should care about is something I can't answer. My belief is that the Harris campaign lost because they sold themselves as "the GOP before Trump ruined it" party. That is how they framed themselves after the DNC convention and that framing failed.
Harris lost because she was the incumbent party - that was in power during a period of the highest inflation in 40 years - supply chain issues - and the perception that they did not have a plan to stop it. That is a death knell. The trans issue - border concerns - and claims that the economy is great all are just illustrations.
MAGA voters will still show up and vote for Trump when he doesn't have a plan to help them. 20 million Dem/independent voters will just stay home when she/platform doesn't have a plan to help them. See the difference?
Dear god, there is NO inflation - it is PRICE gouging - RECORD profits....... It looks like inflation to the end user, but it isn't.....and that is part of the problem. DD
It is the same thing, Orban just rules over a far smaller country with fewer population. Trump has absolue power, he might be 79 but he can still do damage.
and will not go away. They may lower the prices to make THEIR GUY look good but they will still gouge THE QUESTION BECOMES: What is next for Kamala? Rocket River
nothing is next for Kamala. Like Dukakis, she rides off into the sunset and becomes a college professor somewhere, never to be seen or heard from again
The debates where the moderators fact checked Trump but not Kamala?? And the debates with special earrings??
