I dont know the exact first movie, but the first I remember seeing was Robin Hood (Disney) around 1974 at the Clear Lake Movie Theater. I was probably four years old.

    Airplane.

Took me till the age of 16 or 17 to figure out why everyone was laughing so hard.

My parents obviously didnt have the best judgement in the world.

That's the movie with Dan Pastorini in it, right?

I believe the Drive In was on West Road

I didn't realize Dan Pastorini was in it, but it goes to show I had pretty good taste growing up. ;)

yeah, I can remember getting excited everytime we had to drive down 45 into town and passing that Drive-in. I would eagerly await the 15 seconds of seeing whatever was playing from the backseat as we zoomed on by on the interstate.

I really don't know which movie was first... my Dad was a movie maniac and it was his main source of relaxation (besides Mom, I guess ;) ), so some of my first memories are of movie theatres and drive-ins. I remember looking around in awe at the painted, gilded interiors of the Downtown Houston movie palaces. They should never have torn them down.

The Color Purple. It was in theaters and my parents had to take me to the movie. I was a toddler then and ruined the movie by running up and down the aisles. You could see my shadow walking in front of the theater. Needless to say my parents and I left early on that movie. :D

First movie I can remember going to see in the theatre was "Short Circuit 2" in 1988. Later that year I went and saw my second movie "Oliver & Company".

    Blazing Saddles.

Me and my friends rode our bikes to the Meyerland theatre (all the way from Elm street), bought tickets to some other movie and snuck into Blazing Saddles. We laughed so hard at the campfire scene, we were gagging for air.

As teens, we would hold open the exit doors for the people as they were coming out of the movie, then simply walk in after they had all come out. We did this lots of times at the theater at Northwest Mall and never did get caught.

Tried it at some other places but always got caught.

About 1963 at the Garden Oaks Theatre on Garden Oaks Boulevard. I saw this movie "Dr. Sardonicus." It was a horror and it scared me mightily. Some guy was buried alive with a winning lottery ticket in his vest pocket.

As I recall, Dr. Sardonicus goes to dig up the grave and finds that they guy had been buried alive but has since suffocated and suffered a horrible demise.

Upon see this scene, Dr. Sardonicus' face freezes in horror. He lives the rest of his days behind a dramatic mask slurping soup.

I also remember seeing "Marnie" in that theatre.
