I'm going to really miss the Olympics. It was very fun watching them this year. I was just wondering what everyone's favorite moment or event of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics was. I had so many great memories from the Olympics, that I can't really name them all. I loved the skeleton, luge, bobsleed, speed skating, and most of the other events (except for curling). I can't really think of one moment that was my favorite.
Let's see.... how about the cross-communication problems between Olympic security and the ski teams. Apparently they were using the same frequencies with their hand held radios. Another favorite Olympic moment was listening to the people of Salt Lake b**** and moan about how they were promised this incredible amount of business the Olympics would generate when in actuality some of their business decreased. Why? I don't know... Oh another favorite Olympic moment was when the city of Salt Lake kicked people out of their government low income housing to make way for "Olympic Guests" These people were evicted to make room for Olympic Guests and had to find somewhere else to live during the games. They were told they would be able to reapply for housing when the Olympics were over. That was nice.
My favorite moment was today when I went to ESPN.com and there was barely anything about the Olympics.
Sasha Cohen was my favorite athlete in the Olympics, because she was the most attractive female athlete.
I'm always sad when the Olympics are over, though it means I'll be getting a lot more work done this week. Some of my favorites: Jim Shea with his eagle helmet and his grandfather's picture, Sarah Hughes, Derek Parra, Chris Witty having mono and still winning a race and setting a world record, Alexei Yagudin and Tim Goebel, the Croatian skier (Janica Kostelic) that won three golds and a silver, Simon Ammann the ski jumper, and Bode Miller nearly falling down, popping himself back up on one ski, and winning a silver medal. Short track, just because it's so crazy. The way Apolo is able to squeeze in between the skaters on the inside turns, and the Australian guy getting gold for skating the slowest. And, if themoandfroshow can post about watching Sasha, I can post about some of the other things I enjoyed at these Games: the male speedskaters in skintight uniforms (these guys are in such good shape!) The Dutch uniforms in particular... well, they don't leave a whole lot to the imagination. (I knew y'all would want to hear this. ) The male Alpine skiers are amazing too. I also enjoyed the skating exhibition, where they kept the camera on Alexei as he was changing clothes.
That's not true. She was 4th place in the women's figure skating. She didn't skate good in the olympics, but was expected to win a medal, but she didn't.
Seeing the look on Steven Bradbury's face when everyone else fell and he finished with the gold was simply priceless. I was so happy to see an Aussie win the gold. To top that off, Apollo demonstrated true sportsmanship after the incident. Seeing Alisa Camplin win the aerials was fantastic. Watching her during the playing of Advance Australia Fair brought a tear to my eye. No gold medals for 74 years, then two in 48 hours. Aussie Aussie Aussie!!!
I felt bad for that Ohno guy, cause he would've won the gold if he hadn't been tripped. The Aussie guy got lucky.
I could bore all of you to death with my fovorite Olympic event, or moment. for me honestly, it was the moment i walked onto main street in Park city and saw all the friendly people walking around. it was the fact that 2 seconds after being there olympic atheletes would brush past you and say "excuse me", and "sorry" and yes they did this while wearing a medal. going to the Olympics this year was an amazing and unforgetable time. as far as that skater girl. sure she was the "cutest" skater. she was BY NO MEANS the hottest chick there as an athelete. you have to remember that in skating they go on "stage" covered in makeup. The woman Lugers I met were Amazing. hell that Aussie freestyle skier was better looking. and wait a sec. that Canadien pairs woman was better looking than you little sasha girl. ok well in conclusion all the atheletes i met were attractive, and in a totally respectfull hetrosexual way i include the men too. There were literally thousands of near perfect physical specimins up in them there hills. I fell in love with a different woman almost every day. A certain New Zealand Luger takes the cake for me though(she shore was purdee). man I wish i was back there Peace
Yeah the Canadian pairs skaters (Jamie Sale) was really pretty too. I think I like Sasha Cohen the most because she is the cuttest.
When they ended. Ok, that's not totally true. My favorite moment was when Sting and Yo Yo Ma played Fragile druing the opening ceremonies.
