Just wanna know... What was more painful moment for you this year...? 1) Yao Ming's season ending injury which pretty much killed our hopes for something big 2) Game 6 against Utah. McGrady scored 40 points but we still lost and had another 1st round playoff exit
Yao's injury for sure, since he was headed toward MVP contention. he was really having a great individual season
Has to be Yao Ming. Any logical fan knew then what our fate would be. Didn't have to wait until game 6...
Has to be yao's injury. That pretty much sealed our fate right there. Even as much as I wanted to beat Utah, losing the series and specifically game 6 in Salt Lake City despite McGrady's performance, wasn't exactly a shock.
I don't care about that. I mean of course he had a great individual year but it was not the key. The key was that with him we could have done something more in the playoffs
Yao's injury came as a real shock. Nobody expected a season ending injury which also might have future implications for us as well.
After Yao's injury, I was devastated. After Game 6, I was a little bummed, but very proud of the team. Easy choice for me.
Yao's injury by far. The Rockets were rolling with 12 straight wins, Scola and Landry had emerged at the power forward position, and the much maligned midseason trade for Bobby Jackson was looking pretty good after his debut against the Bulls..... And then out of nowhere the entire season was essentially declared dead with the announcement of Yao's stress fracture. Sure, the team gave us another 10 consecutive wins, never quit against Utah, and there's a solid foundation for a title contender going into next season, but an early playoff exit(barring a matchup with someone like Denver) was inevitable the moment they lost Yao Ming.
Yao's enjury was a heart breaker. loss in 6th game was like we finally used up the last drop of fuel in the tank.
Here's a good way to describe how each of them felt to me. Game 6 = Having a really bad month at work and getting fired. Yao = Having a really great month at work and getting fired anyway. They're both disappointing, but only Yao's injury was a complete "wtf, how did this happen!?!" moment. Knocked me on my ass emotionally.
Yao's injury. So damn frustrating. I kept wondering what the hell the Rockets had done to deserve such misfortune year after year. It killed our season just when we were all getting so hyped about what could happen this year.
exactly. it came out of nowhere. the day of the chicago game where he looked really sluggish, the trainers and coaches just laughed it off saying he probably was just fatigued and maybe a few days of rest is fine. then the next day, out of nowhere, he needed season-ending surgery. the shock and unexpectedness of the news really rocked rocket fans.
Yao's was definitely more painful. Noone expected us to win game 6, me one of them after Rafer left at half time. The Yao injury was totally unexpected.
Yao's injury. It's like thinking your life is wonderful, you come home from a long day at work, and then you find your significant other in bed w/ another person...EXCEPT MUCH WORSE. (j/k) Seriously, I think we all felt this team went from serious championship contender to hopeful cinderella story in a flash.
yao goin down for sure....you kinda knew we were gonna be hurtin. but honestly we looked damn good considering
