I like most everything. Usually a lot of heavy metal and classical.

    Here's a breakdown of sorts:

Rock/Metal: Led Zeppelin, the Who, Black Sabbath, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, ZZ Top, Ozzy, Metallica, Pantera, Guns n Roses, Korn, NIN, Megadeth, White Zombie, Rob Zombie, System of a Down, Mudvayne, Lamb of God, etc.

Classical: Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Chopin, Verdi, Orff, etc. Mozart is my favorite composer. Enough talent for an entire generation went to that man.

Blues/Jazz: John Lee Hooker, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, B. B. King.

Hip-Hop: NWA, Eazy E, Ice Cube, Dre, Snoop, Geto Boyz, Street Military, 2 Live Crew, Too Short.

I try to give everything a listen. If I had to name a few of my most favorite styles, the 50's is where it all starts.

Jamaican Ska & rocksteady (Early Wailers, and Studio One stuff)

Big band and swing (Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin, Sinatra doesn't do it for me)

All Motown from this era too.

I like 70's punk (The Avengers, Ramones, Buzzcocks, etc.)

In the past I've had a Pink Floyd phase that turned into a Blues phase, and went through a long Bob Marley phase before I heard other Jamaican music.

I listen to The Mountain Goats, Asylum Street Spankers, ACDC, Townes Van Zandt, Willie Nelson, and a mixed bag of everything else lately. I've been in a real unplugged mood for the past year or so.

[Edit: Heh! I finally hit one post per day in my stats!]

i dig alternative ballads the most

speaking of that, I picked up Jimmy Eat World's new CD "Chase the Light". "Dizzy" is probably one of the most amazing songs they have ever wrote.
