I'm looking into getting a bike and I have no idea where to begin. I plan on using it mainly for exercise by riding on roads and bike trails so I'm thinking a hybrid is the way to go.

Anyone know which brands to look at? My price range is on the lower side, $150-200, so used is definitely an option. I went on craigslist and was overwhelmed so what's a good starting point?

I saw this one on Wal-Mart's site but I really don't know. http://www.walmart.com/ip/NEXT-Amplifier-26-Men-s-Bike/14277827

Looks like I would have to upgrade the seat but I don't mind as long as the bike lasts. Reviews seem positive though.

    Any thoughts?

If you could wait a bit and scrounge up another 100$ or so you could get yourself a used cyclocross bike. It's a much better hybrid of road and mountain than an actual hybrid bike.
