Believe it or not, after a month of basketball, the Pacers have played one (1) team with a winning record, the 8-7 Grizzlies. Their opponent's win % is right around .404, good for dead last in the league. When I say dead last, I mean, that is by far the worst opponent win % (the Bobcats opponent win % sits at .427).

The pieces are there, they took the Heat to 7 games last season. Are they for real? Do they even make the WCF this year if their conference affiliation was flipped?

I just don't see them having the offense to compete.

    What say you?

I mean they're contenders, but they aren't as good as everyone seems to think they are. Paul George tho is a top 5 player

they are what I would say the KC Chiefs are and have benefited from their scheduling. We'll see them hit their mean eventually and come back to earth a bit. That's not to say they aren't a good team or contenders.

Pacers and Paul George are both being overrated heavily right now.

Scola has helped their bench a lot though.

Pacers are a legit Top 3 team in the East again this year. I would say Paul George is playing out of his mind right now, but it probably wont be for the whole season (if it is, he better win MVP). I think Pacers will win 55-60 games this year. If Granger can come back and accept his role as 6th man, LOOKOUT. The Pacers are stacked.

    Paul George is really good.

Their defense, anchored by Hibbert, is bonkersville.

    Their offense still kinda blows.

Opening schedule has been weak, but that's not their fault and they've been winning.

Starting five played extremely well together last year and they're playing extremely well together this year.

    They'll probably win 50-60 games.

If Miami's Big Three enter the playoffs healthy, the Heat will probably win the East.

They are still a great team, they proved that last season. They are gonna play a lot of crappy teams this year just being in the east. There are only 2 teams in the east and they are one of them

Pacers are legit. Their defense and depth wear out opponents. If they stay healthy, it will be very difficult to beat them in a 7-game series. Teams get sick and tired of being bumped, shoved and contested for entire games and eventually wilt. In a playoff series, that works to their advantage.

Unless injuries bite them, Pacers will win over 60 games and the Heat will be their only competition for #1 seed in the East. Wouldn't surprise me if the Heat were their only real challenge for best record in the NBA.

Winner of Heat/Pacers in the ECFs will win the championship. I don't see the Spurs or anyone else in the West winning 4 games from either.

    • 14-1
    • A top two team in the East.
    • Likely headed for another EC Finals showdown with Miami. Will they pull it off? Who knows.

If they were 10-5(or anything besides 14-1), you'd be saying "See, they're overrated, not as good as everyone says, etc." Basically, the same thing you're saying now at 14-1.

What do they have to do or show you they're "for real"?

Are they killing these crappy teams?

Plus not many expected some of these East teams to be this bad.

    Not their fault.

Despite the fact that I said they have had the easiest schedule, they have a very high points differential which bodes well for them. Other teams have had easy schedules like Miami, OKC, and Spurs but they have they have the best record still so give them props.

They are legit but not this legit.

They are still #2 behind Miami as far as I see. They still are stunted offensively and ball handling wise, which Miami will expose.

Stephenson has grown a lot, and Scola was a good addition. Ultimately, they need a playmaker of some sort to get easier buckets. Play the p&r with West, get george open buckets, make life easier for Hibbert. Hill's a great 3 & D PG, but he's very poor in the playmaking department and he's got handles that Mario Chalmers and players like Bev will feast on.

They're not 14-1 good...but they're definitely for real and a legit championship contender.

lol. They have killed there opponents, They destroyed the high powered wolves and led them to their lowest PPG total in 4 years. They are focused and sharp, anyone who thinks this is a fluke is crazy, go back and watch last year. They had to cope with losing there star player in Granger.

Who cares about offense when your opponent can't score? Y'all crazy, for wanting O over legit D. Anyone who thinks we're better! God bless your heart lol. PG can lock down Harden like nothing and Hibbo can wrestle with Dwight.

They are good and I agree with the poster above, Who ever comes out the east is winning the Chip.

Just meant I don't believe their record indicates how good they are. Their strength of schedule is the weakest in the league, so once they start playing the more competitive teams, we'll see where they're really at.
