Here is a video of pre and post game activities a couple years back in Columbus. I heard horror stories from UT fans 2 seasons ago and really couldn't imagine it could be that bad, the worst being Buckeye fans cursing and threatening a pair of UT parents and their kids at the game. Just thought this was an interesting video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PahHn2WxUlI
nevermind....just watched the whole video.... that is NOT like every other school. not sure where you got that idea.
A bunch of liquored up a-holes act like a-holes before and after the big rivalry game. I am shocked! Shocked and appalled!
were we lighting fires and starting riots after a win? either way...nebraska and k-state prime examples of what is good about college sports. tOSU has some of the trashiest fans around.
see, if people from the same country that so happen to just go to different schools can't get along, how can anyone expect people of different nations to get along?
Uh, I've been to games at a few different universities in major football conferences and I can say I haven't seen anything like this at all. To say that every school does this is like saying that a person that a person that goes to a bar and has 1 or 2 beers does the same thing as the person that goes and drinks 10 beers and does a few shots for good measure. It just ain't that simple. I currently go to the U of Arkansas and haven't seen anything even close to approaching that level -- and our fans defintely take football serious.
Actually, from the 20 odd games that I've tailgated in Austin for, yes...yes they do. Even for the tOSU game this year. UT fans were gracious, saying, "Good Luck" while tOSU fans were flipping us off. UT fans celebrate their team just like any other school. We just choose to use trash cans...but not for lighting fires or throwing them at people.
Why so much hate for UT? Every possible thread you have to take a shot, even when your obviously going to be wrong.
As a Buckeye, I can clarify a few things. We do have ugly girls here at Ohio State, it's a shameful fact. The beautiful girls are dumb, and cannot make the 26 ACT score requirement. They go to schools like Kent State and Miami-Oxford. Having been to every home game this year, I can say that I have not once seen a fan demean the oppossing team's fans. As a whole, we are the largest University in the United States. As a part, we have every element of society being represented. Add alcohol, and stupid **** happens. This year, there is a police force present akin to Fallujah around after every game. The CPD are not messing around. Oh, and the Michigan Rivalry is the biggest in sports. Why? Legandary circumstances. I jumped into Mirror Lake last night, with about 5,000 others. It was 48°F water, and 40° weather. This weather is considered good for jumping. This week was hell for me, since I had two midterms in Analytical and Organic Chemistry, but the atmosphere is more powerful than an elixer. You really feel like you can acheive anything this week. GO BUCKS!
I'm sad to say I won't be able to see the game...I will be at my daughter's cheerleading competition...yeah, I know...
