So, I get an email for a buy a night get a free night at an Omini Hotel......so I research some cities, but decide to go to Dallas since thats where my wifes family is and it was the cheapest room. So I get a room at the Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas for a grand total of under $200 for both nights. My question to you guys is....Whats there to do in Dallas....Keep in mind, its my wife and my 16 year old brother and myself. We are gonna visit her family of course. I just wanna know some good restuarants and hangouts for all of us....thanks in advance

I'm going to Frisco this weekend myself to hang out with a buddy of mine.

Hoping to find some Mavs fans and make jokes about Dirk's Planet of the Apes girlfriend.

The hatred for Dallas in this thread, and on this board in general, is so inspiring. :D Thank you, ClutchFans.

Find a Cowboy cheerleader and then ask your wife if she could join you guys ;) , and then find Mark Cuban's mom and yell that his son is a punk

Take the fam to the gentlemen's establishments off NW Hwy, should go down a treat.

Nah seriously though, drive up a little bit from your hotel and check out Texas Stadium before they tear it down. Drive to Arlington and see the new Cowboys stadium.(Even if you aren't a fan, the stadium is absolutely sick).

Take your wife to Northpark or maybe hit up the Nasher.

Eat in Grapevine (close Las Colinas & has a nice Main Street). Do NOT go see the Movie studios in Las Colinas...not very good. Hang out in Sundance square in Ft. Worth at night. Go see 4-Day Weekend in Ft. Worth (improv comedy troup kinda like the old "whats my line" show). Ft. Worth Stockyards during the day (its a country hangout at night with lots of country bars). They have a cattle drive during the day, lots of neat shops, take pictures with the longhorns, etc..sorta touristy. Go to Six Flags in Arlington. See the Six Floor Museum in Dallas (Where Oswalt was when he shot Kennedy). The Dallas WORLD aquarium is very cool...just don't confuse it with the Dallas Aquarium which sucks. The Ft. Worth Zoo is one of the top zoos in the country.

Las Colinas is just to the east of the airport, so you are a bit closer to Dallas than Ft. Worth. However, the people in Ft. Worth are much nicer & they won't give you a hard time about being from Houston.

Don't forget to take pictures with the Mustangs in Las Colinas. You should be able to walk there from your hotel.

The Byron Nelson is in town this weekend (TPC Four Seasons). See if you can go catch a round.

I'll be at a wedding reception at the Omni this weekend; it's a nice place!

Sixth Floor Museum is amazing. Walking through Dealey Plaza is surreal.
