I'll be in downtown chicago for one day and needed a suggestion on a place to eat and some places to see.
Go to Michigan Avenue, eat at Pot Belly sandwiches Get Garrets popcorn (must get cheddar cheese and caramel mix, trust me) Go to Harry's velvet Room Got 5 Faces afterwards for a gyro to go
Ditto Resa's. For desert, check out Hugo's Frog Bar on Rush near Division. Places to chill: FourNoFive on Halsted and Hubbard is a pretty chill lounge, great hip-hop. You can catch some great blues/jazz a little further north on Halsted at B.L.U.E.S & Kingston Mines (they are right across the street from each other). Buddy Guy's Legends is a pretty aight bar but I think he only plays there in January. If you get a chance to see the Cubs at Wrigley, go for it. Wrigley Field is worth suffering through the Cubs (if only for the gorgeous females....I mean good god...) and afterwards, you can always hit the Wrigleyville bars. Giordano's is great but I would avoid the one on Rush St. at all costs -- there always seems to be a 45 minute wait there. Instead order out, or trek out to other franchise locations (Greektown, Belmont, etc). If your with a female, I would suggest the Signature Lounge in the Hancock building -- it is the PERFECT chill spot. Have great time, Chicago is a wonderful city.
although it would be impossible to dispute the iron-clad logic of your response, don't you think it overgeneralizes? i mean, aren't hookers the answer to every question
Go stand by the water fountain that's on Married with Children...Take a harbor tour and eat somewhere good...
poor timing, my friend... i was there over the weekend at the Touch & Go Records 25th Anniversary Party and saw (among others): Scratch Acid Big Black Didgits The Ex Man... Or Astroman? Shellack !!! i'd suggest the Desayuno Veloz at El Taco Veloz on W. Chicago Ave. between Paulina and Damen. enjoy.
they are opening a Pot Belly Sandwiches on 59 between the mercedes dealership and lakewood church. do they make good sandwiches?
They have a Pot Belly Sandwiches here in The Woodlands at Market Square and it is fantastic. Best of all, they are cheap and do not forget to get the hot peppers. They are awesome.
