This afternoon (London time), my school will be hosting a lecture with Mervyn King as chair and Ben Bernanke and Lawrence Summers will be there as lecturers. I want to canvas some ideas from Clutchfans as to what kind of questions should I ask, if I managed to get picked and if there is some question time at the end? Some ideas: What's your base salary and bonus? Who did you vote for, Romney or Obama? Etc etc If there are any good questions here, I'll try to ask them and report back
So, you may get the opportunity to ask a question of a man who holds a powerful position and those are the first two that come to mind?
Well I know that everybody else in the audience will be asking the serious, in depth questions (heck there are professors and media as well), so why not something different? Although if you have a challenging economic question to ask, by all means post it.
His base salary is probably public knowledge and if it wasn't he wouldn't tell you. Why would you asked him who he voted for? He won't tell you. I'd ask him what his favorite sexual position is.... But I'm also drunk in Vegas.
Ask him what his motivations were to be a central banker versus working in the private sector. Yes I understand he is kind of in the private sector but he runs an entity that is backed by the government.
Ask him what is the endgame for the nonstop flooding of currency? Is there a plan to fight the inflation that is already happening as a result of qe?
the perks of being at LSE. I'm jelly. You guys should get Carney to come out too! Ask if he thinks the way the regional Fed boards are set up gives too much influence to a minority of homogeneous bankers, and board members that owe to much to bankers. might make him squirm a bit
