Ok, as many times as I was tripping over those things at Christmas, now they are out of stock everywhere?? I got the thumbs-up from the wife to add a 2nd one upstairs, and now I can't find one. Does anyone know where the secret stash of PS3's is in town? Or what the heck, is there some kind of problem or something? What's the dealio, yo?
Not sure, even a lot ouf online places are out of stock of them. Sony must be either behind, or really toned down the amount of PS3s being manufactured. Really? PS3's are out of stock? I haven't seen that in a while. Perhaps it's anticipation of Final Fantasy XIII and God of War 3 (probably the latter since it's PS3-exclusive).
Why get a second one? Why ask your wife? You're a man, it's a console. This is implied in the marriage contract.
PS3's were never really out of stock... the only hard ones to find were the 20Gb original ones because those were essentially condemned the best ones because of the backward compatibility.. I don't think people care anymore though.
Or, rather, the 60gb backwards compatible fatties are the best. :grin: (bigger HDD, even though they are replaceable)
I meant 60 GB.. lmao... I have the 60.. 20's were the smaller version, I remember now. And then they came out with the 40's without backward thing and eliminated the 20's. 60's are the ones that are hard to get.. the 20's are near impossible but I don't think anyone would choose a 20 over a 60 anyway.
I still consider myself lucky for finding out about the removal of backwards compatibility and rushing my PS3 purchase so I could buy a 60gb'er back in the day. I didn't have any plan to get a PS3, but I rushed it because of that. T'was a good move! And yes, this is me gloating.
Yeah, I'm not sure how much they go for on eBay these days but back about a year or so ago... they were selling for $600+.. I was really considering just selling it but I was just too lazy to find my box... ship it... etc. It's was a hassle to do all of that and then buy another one but I'm glad I bought one early one also. I bought mine on eBay along with a Wii in a huge bundle, actually ripped the guy off with all the stuff I got for about $900 at the time.
