http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.co...-jokes-about-obama-ducking-a-gunman/#comments Not a funny joke at all. What the hell is wrong with repubs these days?
Wow. He's got to be smart enough to see the wrong in what he said... Then again...he is from Arkansas (sorry Lil Pun).
Typical overreaction in response... The guy is a former Baptist preacher, do you honestly think he meant what he said? It was a joke. Wow.
Not really an appropriate joke to make, especially in front of a group dedicated to the idea that more guns are good.
Two problems with what Huck said: 1) You never joke about an assassination attempt on a Presidential candidate, especially a black candidate, and even more especially when you're talking to the NRA. 2) It wasn't funny. The great news about this dumb joke is that McCain will never pick him as his VP now. That would've been a drag on the ticket. Oh, and another prediction is the lib media will overreact as always while they gave a pass to every Dem who has said anything stupid or offensive recently.
we know it was a joke. it was very tasteless joke. but leave it to good ole mike hickabee to say something stupid. he needs to issue an apology and stfu.
I'm thinking this will get blown up to ridiculous proportions so that we can all entertain the idea of how shooting Obama is bad and that teen smoking causes lung cancer.... Update | 7:30 p.m.: Mr. Huckabee just released a statement, apologizing: During my speech at the N.R.A., a loud noise backstage, that sounded like a chair falling, distracted the crowd and interrupted my speech. I made an off hand remark that was in no way intended to offend or disparage Sen. Obama. I apologize that my comments were offensive. That was never my intention.”
The biggest thing is it wasn't funny. The audience heard a noise, they got distracted, Huck tried to make a funny, he failed miserably. I don't think there was any malice behind it. The only thing we learned it that Huck is not a master of the quick quip.
Was that actually a joke Kerry was making or was he being sincere with that remark? It's been awhile since I saw the clip so I don't remember. Either way, yes that comment did cost him. He ended up not running for President again in large part due to that remark.
You do realize that Obama has the most security around him that any other candidate in the history of our country, right? Even Flanders wouldnt have said that. He's gotta be smarter than that. On a side note, I hope he's not the VP to McCain. We dont need that miracles over math attitude in this country. I guess we should just be glad he wont be president. If God came down to tell Bush to invade Iraq, I wonder what he would tell the real life Ned Flanders.
