It's 1:03 a.m. I'm making my usual rounds around the house for a routine evening shutdown (turn off lights, make sure doors are locked, etc.). I just heard the weirdest friggin' noise I've ever heard. It sounded directional as if something just flew immediately over our house (we live in Timbergrove inside the loop). Our house is near a hospital and we hear life-flight all the time, but this sounded nothing like a helicopter. It didn't sound far in the air either, as if it was maybe 30 feet above our house. It moved quickly over our house, in probably a little less than 1 second. It was quite loud. It didn't sound like an airplane at all and as I immediately opened the door and went outside I could neither hear anything in the distance nor see anying of consequence anywhere. It sounded like a TV-style UFO. After checking everything and everywhere in the house, around the house, and down the street, I can't find anything. I walked into the bedroom where my wife was almost asleep. I asked her, "Did you just hear something a minute ago?" She said, "Yeah!" (quite awake now) Me: "What did it sound like to you?" Her: "It sounded like a f***ing UFO!" I still don't know what the hell that was. Never heard anything like it. Anybody else hear or see anything strange at around 1 a.m. tonight? -- droxford
ooh, talk to the neighbors tomorrow, see if they heard anything... Freaky!! edit: maybe it was bayou or swamp gas??
Usually like a 70's synthisizer set on some sort of rounded wave oscelation with some kind of effects thrown in for good measure. I wouldn't worry too much. Around 1990 something I saw what had to be the coolest thing I've ever seen fly across the sky. It looked like 10 or 15 burning points of various intensity flying accross the sky at incredible speed. My father freaked out, but I was intrested but not wierded out. In the paper the next day there was an article about a Russian satelite burning up into the ocean that caused hundreds of UFO reports to the police. Still, it was the coolest thing I've ever seen.
I had something happen like that about 10 years ago, except it was more like a hovering craft. I didn't see it but I could hear it in the middle of the night. I have had occasional dreams about being abducted, so I was a bit freaked. Strange thing though, I was at a get-together with my next-door neighbor the next day and she brought it up.... likewise only hearing it in the middle of the night.
I beleive their was a minor Earthquake where i live yesterday. I was inside on the computer and suddenly everything shook a bit and i thought something had fallen upstairs i went to check but everything was in place. Then my dad was outside came inside to ask if we knew what it was. We were both shocked and came up to the conclusion that it was just a minor earthquake. Also my neighbors cats were spazzing.
I'm not claiming anything! I had one strange incident from childhood, but there are other possible explanations. I've had no incidents of missing time that perplex me-- just these occasional dreams and a very compelling interest in the UFO phenomena. One time I saw a show which featured people who claimed to be abductees. This was one of those shows where they show photographic evidence of strange implants (no boob jobs) in their body. A particular place in my hand started acting irritated and itched for a couple of hours. I wondered if my mind was trying to tell me something. I should go get an x-ray...
