You know, I figured he would be a great asset to this team to help Yao grow into a better center. I haven't seen anything from Yao in terms of a big man. I look at the games and not once have I ever seen Patrick Ewing get say anything or do anything. He sits there with his clipboard and sometimes I wonder if he's just drawing stick figures or playing tic tac toe against himself. I have seen some of the practices down at the TC through that big red crap that they never raise up. The whole time these guys are running a play, Ewing is standing on the baseline playing with a basketball. Oh, but he wasn't brought here specifically to help out Yao right? He's supposed to be an all around coach and someday get his break in the NBA.

Well here's hoping you get the Utah job when Sloan gets let go or fired.

He is here to remind us of the '94 finals, and the great history of the Knicks organization.

Rox are making a BIG mistake by not bring in Jabar. I mean I know JVG is being loyal to his ex Kinck player but come one! It pretty clear Ewing really hasnt motivated or helpped Yao in his develpment much & its time to bring somone else in too see what they can do. IMO of course.

The Rockets should bring in Kareem Abdul Jabar. He would be ideal for Yao to learn from. I don't see why JVG doesn't just realize that Yao's game is more to Kareem's then Ewing's.

Not a Ewing fan but he is getting a bum rap for not developing Yao, Yao is simply not athletic enough to thrive in today's NBA.

Jabar could teach Yao some Bruce Lee moves.

To provide a convenient scapgoat so that people can blindly accuse him of sins that they have absolutely no clue whether or not he is responsible for.

Ewing is the best assistant coach on the whole planet. Yao is the worst student in the universe. Hopeless situation...

If u read my post I am not makig him a scapgoat but rather saying lets try somone else. If Ewing hasnt done it yet i doubt he will be abel to so maybe we should go in another direction.

Listen up Coach Gundy, its ok to bring in Jabar and noone will complain about that. Jabar can only improve Yao's game, such as that skyhook thing, you know!

And what is that Andy Greer loser doing? He's just like Ewing. During games, he's just sitting there with a clipboard doing jack.

Don't know if Ewing is doing his job, it's clear that Yao is not doing too well. Given the choice, Kareem Abdul Jabbar has a lot more to teach than Ewing, both Yao and him are physically gifted the same way.

JVG is kind of bonehead too, he only trust his old folks. There is no way he could work with Jabbar and there is no hope we can see Jabbar here.

Let's not kid ourselves, JVG brought in Ewing to develop Yao. Guess what, there has been no improvement whatsoever, now a guy like Kareem would be a great fit because he was also over 7' and was anot a tough inside player, yet he had that good skyhook. Something that is more in Yao's play style than powering his way to the basket and getting a dunk. Let's face it, Yao will never be this, it's just not in him so why not adapt to his style instead.

Has there ever been a player that required so much that he MIGHT be a ble to achieve some level of greatness? Ever since joining the league, everyone associated with Yao has had a finger pointed in their direction as the reason why he's not developing, we only have ten fingers, pretty soon we will run out of excuses and just except Yao for what he is, another in the long list of giants this league has seen. Maybe he was the best giant, but how much is that really saying?
