These guys can possibly get the chance of a lifetime to get a guy in the center that could get them the open shots they lost when Olajuwon left. Rudy T loves playing the post-up game letting the guards open for the 3: Kenny Smith, Cassell and Olajuwon!!!
Yes, we don't know if Ming will dominate the middle. But he's young, big, tall and will get bigger and stronger over time. What alternative is there already? Cato? Pleeeeze!!!!!
All I know is like I have written before, this can be a chance of a lifetime. And all I read is that those idiots don't want him?
    Why?
    Jeleously!!!!!!!!!!
Ming will become the Houston Rockets stamp!!
When you say "Houston Rockets," Yao will be what you think of and that scares the hell out of Francis!!!
As far as I'm concerned, make Ming the "franchise" if he becomes a Rockets.
At least we will have a player that appreciates the game, has a good head on his shoulders and doesn't act like a punk like most NBA players act todays.
The rest of the NBA should learn from the foreign players that are coming over here. You never hear any crap coming from these guys camps.
    Anyway..that's a whole other soapbox.

I swear if Francis and Mobley pop off about Ming (if) he becomes a Rockets than those guys are going to get booed out of town. What has Francis done that is so great for the Rockets? NOTHING!!

See, this is the case of people reading to much into something and blowing things out of proportion. They DID NOT say they didn't like Ming, they wanted a more proven player. What makes people think Ming will instantly become the franchise player!? Let the guy ease his way onto the team. How quickly people turn on the players over one harmless comment. Now Francis is a punk, and idiot, and hasn't done anything for the Rockets!? Relax! Breath in, breath out, everything is going to be all right!

I do agree with you about Steve and Cutino - I think its more Cutino than Steve though that would be jealous. Cutino seems to crave attention that he does not deserve. My personal opinion. Either way, Ming should not be drafted by the Rockets. He will be only a little better than Shawn Bradley and thats not what you want in a #1 pick im sorry fellas but thats the bottom line. This guy is goin to be a Sam Bowie maybe not that bad but he is way to soft for the eight he carrys. Its only gonna take one time for Shaq to boom on his head (and you know he will) for ming to lose all his confidence. In the mean time Francis and especially Mobley need to realize they are not GM's. Someone in the organization needs to put the both of the (mobley) in there place ti make such comments

I honestly believe that Cat and Steve are just giving their opinions. I don't think either thinks that Ming doesn't have skills, but they're kind of being impatient trying to get a solid team next year. Our staff will make the right decision and if its Ming I think Cat and Steve will be able to deal with that.

And if they don't then you're right, they'll have to deal with the possibility of being split up. Championship caliber teams don't happen overnight, they have to understand that.

One thing I don't understand is when people say Mobley wants this because he wants more shots, or more attention. How is bringing a young, mega-talented player going to give Mobley more shots or more attention? He is one-half of arguably the 2nd best backcourt in the NBA, something he and Francis has earned and gets them attention. Odom is arguably more talented then anybody on the Rockets. I mean pure talent, not effectiveness. No way is getting a guy like that going to get him or Francis more pub, if anything people will be talking about Odom. I don't know why they have to out them "in their place". I'm glad our players are worried about winning. I don't agree that Shaq will destroy him. If Shaq dunking on somebody killed their confidence, there wouldn't be a center left in the NBA.

It's just that Mobley and Francis are joined at the hip and obviously don't him based on Mobley's comments on "Last Word."
When you're a millionare NBA player that kids look up to and you get a DWI at 3am, that makes you a punk. BTW- What HAS Francis done for the Rockets since he's been here?

Oh hey, this is different. One thread that disses Steve and Cuttino at the same time. The BBS usually takes turns with the "most hated of the month club"... this is definitely ground-breaking.

-RocksMillenium- You proved your own point Genius - And you missed mine, I never said Mobley wants Ming for attention. I said he seems to crave attention. He is not that good. If you shot the ball 40 times in a game, hey it has to land somewhere. They dont even rank in the top five. My personal opinion is Mobley should be traded. and if our players are worried about winning so much, why in the world do we always lose? "Selfishness" Bottom line when Francis grows up he will be one of the best. Cutino is merely a 3rd option in my eyes. A Scottie Pippen and we all know the players around Scottie made him better than what he actually is throughout his career. Question: If Mobley is so good then why couldnt he carry the team to at least one victory in the midst of that 15 game losing streak. He wants to be the man, he had his chance and could not do it. He is not one of the best. As long as our back court includes him it wont even rank in the top five. I dont know what games you watch... as for the Shaq comment like I said you proved my point "
No one wants to guard him. He made Smits and Sabonis Retire and he will be the cause that others retire... People move when he is about to Dunk they dont even contest his dunks "I wouldnt either" but these guys are high paid centers and their all scared. You see it just like me. The only reason Webber tried to guard him in game 7 is cause his pride and he grew up and realize for the Kings to win that would be a roll he would have to take. Now we are talking about a 21 year old kid. Shaq is going to ruin him. The game is all about confidence thats why Kobe excels. Ming will be overwhelmed you wait and see. In the meantime please get off of Mobleys Jock... It aint worth sniffin..

Mobley shoots way too much for a SHOOTING guard. Those 18 shots per should have went to Rice or Taylor last season. Cat is way too selfish. Players should be like robots, so we can think for them . Rebuilding is the key, if we change players every couple of years, we would be so unpredictable other teams could never stop us.

Francis is a punk, he should have led our stacked team to a championship by now. He makes millions and my kids worship him, and since I'm not available to them, he and the tv are responsible for teaching them right from wrong.

I have never made a mistake in my life, so I'm in a position to judge everyone.

Why do they put peanuts in peanut butter, I wish they would use coconuts.

I think the real reason why Francis and Mobley would be jealous is because Ming seems like such a witty and likeable guy.

The problem is that he is too likeable and thus may be replace either Francis or Mobley in terms of being the other's best buddy. In this case, Francis and Mobley will have to break up. After all, who would want to hang around as the third wheel? :(

Most of you guys seem to think that Kobe is among the best if not the best 2 guard in the league. Well here is a revelation, as far as I am concerned nuff said.

    Cuttino Mobley:

    21.7 ppg
    2.50 apg
    2.43 to
    0.5 bpg
    4.1 rbd
    .395 3pt
    .438 fg%

    Kobe Bryant:

    25.2 ppg
    5.50 apg
    2.79 to
    .44 bpg
    5.50 rbd
    .250 3pt
    .469 fg%

Oh and also you guys would be eating crow if Houston would have let Mobes go to Toronto for a higher salary, but because he and Steve are close he stayed for less. Not that any of you could understand the dynamics of having friends. Why do you guys have to hate? What 2 guard would we have if not for Mobes that mekes him so crappy?

    :p

Francis came in as a rookie and became the leading scorer on this team with 18 ppg. Ming won't come close to that. I think it's unfair to pick on Mobley when he was a 2nd round draft pick and turned into one of the best 2 guards in the league. Not to mention he turned down more money from Toronto, unlike Olajuwon, to stay with the Rockets. He does shoot a lot, but he's no Iverson, the guy avg 18 shots on a team that didn't have it's #1 option for many games. And even though this season was a bust, he played the whole year on a bad ankle, almost like Francis still playing even though he is in the middle of a migraine when the season was already lost. Don't tell me Francis and Mobley don't appreciate the game when they are laying their bodies on the line just to play. I knew this would happen, suddenly people thinking that Ming is the Man and that we should get rid of Francis and Mobley. And don't tell me Francis is a punk because he has a DWI, George W. Bush has a DWI and I seriously doubt that he is a punk.

I don't know if you've looked around lately, but there isn't!

But I suppose you think that Vince Carter is one of the best?

Kids weren't looking up to Bush when he was out drinking. He made a mistake when he was younger and had enough balls to admit it. If I can remeber, Francis denied the whole thing.

Do I wish I was an NBA player?
    Hell yeah....I'd love to be a multi-millionaire. Wouldn't you?

Bush admitted it because he had no choice. It was in the newspapers before he "had enough balls to admit it." He apparently didn't "have enough balls" to admit his cocaine habit. And he IS a punk.

There's no proof Francis was guilty, even though he probably was. Most NBA players drink and most of them smoke weed. Most of the married ones also cheat on their wives. Get used to it.

I think it was a pro baseball player who said, "Think of me less as a role model and more as a cautionary tale."

It would be great if everyone who was really good at something and who was also in the public eye lived like a monk, you know, just for the sake of the kids. But they don't. Doesn't make them punks. They were signed to play basketball, not to serve as role models.

As for the topic at hand, I think they have a right to say whatever they want. I wish they wouldn't though, as I worry it will make it awkward for them and Ming to get along at first. I have no doubt they'll all get along great eventually. Winning's good for that.

Where did all these ignorant Mobley haters pop out of?

I don't know what people have against Mobley and Francis voicing their opinions. They are actual players who have an idea who might be good for their team. Its not like they are threating to leave if their demands are not met.

Cat was on a show, the hosts asked him some questions and he answered them.

people may or may not like his answers, or even the fact that he agreed to answer them at all. That's fine, but there has been so much over-reaction to the whole situation that it's getting silly.

Here's some vital stats for Cat. :)

1.Agreed to play in Houston for less.

2.Got on the phone every time the Rockets wanted to recruit someone, or re-sign them, to try and hype the team.

3.Has an opinion about what he wants to have happen with the team.

4.Answered questions concerning that opinion on a sports show.

Obviously some people don't like #4, but does it warrant the amount of attacks that it has caused?
