I want a summary of what teams would trade to get Chris Paul. What is the biggest haul that New Orleans could get for him?

Expirings, picks, young talent, or another NBA superstar? What are the offers?

[IMG] plus the right to swap picks with NY and the NY pick

I WISH...even though we would have a massive logjam at the G positions...but Hollinger's -5 wins prediction is amusing.

i dont get the question...you want people to come up with their own scenarios or you want actual rumors floating around?? It sounds like you want official rumors and offers, but i dont see how one can get that. You're going to get a billion random scenarios...any team technically can trade for him and every team has multiple scenarios they can come up with...since we dont know what each team truly is offering then it's up to fans to speculate and that's not going to be very close to reality

One thing we do know, whoever does get Paul (if they get him) will also probably have to absorb Okafor. That's like 26 million in salary. They don't necessarily need a PG in return and they'd obviously be looking for prospects and/or another young talented player like Bynum or Wesbrook. The rumored Portland deal wasn't enticing enough IMO (if memory serves me). Did it include Oden? I feel it would have to include Oden and not Pryzbilla.

The Bobcats are rumored to be on CP3's list.

He is from NC, so I could see him playing there.

Yeah, he's from North Carolina and said that he rooted for the hornets as a kid, which was of course when they were in Charlotte.

orlando, charlotte would be my top 2, houston and la maybe distant outside chances, the latter would give them a few franchise player as kobe is likely in his last 3 years.

I think the nets are on the verge of becoming a very dangerous franchise. If they just stay patient and build the team for 2 more yrs then add paul to their talent, they will be tough.

The rumored Orlando deal with Carter and Jameer for Paul and Okafor. Simple cap relief and a good player back. But the story was Orlando couldn't find a 3rd team to take on Okafor. I would think New Orleans is waiting for a better deal than that.

    Charlotte?
Well, they could offer up Damp's contract for cap relief. But then what? Nazr Mohammed, Gerald Henderson, D.J. Augustin, and 3 future first rounders? Hmmmm. Not much better than expirings. The 3 future first rounders are likely to be late teen picks.

What team wouldn't trade to get CP3? Miami because they'd have to part with one of the 3 (Dwade) and they aren't doing that.

As far as what teams have the best shot, I'd say the Nets, Blazers and Mavs. All 3 have rich owners who won't be afraid to take on the Hornets' bad contracts (a must for any CP3 trade) as well as some young talent to send back.

I think Indiana has a shot if they decide they want to just blow it up and offer Granger straight up. It's a pretty even trade that makes sense for both teams.

Asset wise I don't think anyone can offer what we can in terms of expirings, draft picks, young talent, etc. and be willing to take on salary. We would probably need to find a third team to move AB to and then move a similar talent to the Hornets.

based on the story about the big 3, cp3 also wanted to play along with those guys. but his contract ends in 2012. by that time, i think miami would have some assets to do an SnT for CP3.

whoever gets cp3 now, it would be a 2 yr rental coz he's either going to miami, or to NY with melo

We could offer them Brooks + Battier + Hill + Johnson + Budinger + Hayes + Jeffries + Anderson for CP3 + Okafor

    :p

    Paul/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor
    Ariza/Harris (LOL)
    Scola/Miller
    Yao/Okafor

You are way overvaluing Granger. No way is that an even trade for NO. Without knowing what NO would want from a CP3 trade, I would ask for a minimum of 3 assets(young players and or picks) plus expirings.

A few scenarios(I'm assuming the OP meant possible offers not rumored):

    Portland New Orleans
    Fernandez Paul
    Batum
    Bayless
    Przybilla

    New York New Orleans
    Chandler Paul
    Randolph Okafor
    Curry
    Turiaf
    Azubuike
