After yesterdays disappoint, reality is that we are far from elite with schaub under center and a mediocre defense. What team do you not want to face come playoffs? For me its definitely Denver. Peyton had our number when he was with Indy and Denver has been playing real hot last few weeks.
I still say New England. I know Denver is better than when we played them..but they've had such a cupcake schedule that I don't think life will be so easy especially if they're on the road.
1) New England: I just don't see how the texans can beat them. 2) Denver: I think Peyton is easier to rattle than Brady and I think they have a chance of covering Decker and Thomas. We have no one to cover welker, Hernandez and gronk. 3) Baltimore: I would still be pretty confident in this game, but they are more talented than the rest. 4) Indy: a little more difficult that Cinvy just because of familiarity and a divisional opponent 5) Cinci: have experience beatin them in the playoffs, weakest team on the field IMO
we're going to the playoffs? I thought we were 3-13 entering the reggie bush sweepstakes all over again.
I don't think our defense will be mediocre in the playoffs. Wade is crafty. We'll see so many wrinkles that we didn't see in the regular season. For the past five games we've been playing with one hand behind our backs. Resting starters who could have otherwise started and stuff. You can count on Watt, Joseph, Ninja, and that OLB core to show up on game day. The offense? Not so much. Conserviak is trying as hard as he can out there, and he's sucking, what you see if what you get. Kubiak is incapable of holding back. He's so boring that we can all predict as fans what he's gonna do based on down and distance. He probably voted for Bob Dole. Shoot.
That's how it feels right now. All of the Texans' haters are out in full force. You can see the difference in between the bandwagon fans and the fans that put up with David Carr from the start. I would feel very confident if Cushing was still out there. We would be a 2 loss team perhaps and in the driver's seat for a SB berth. I have my doubts now on both of sides of the ball, but I'm not giving up hope yet. If we were 16-0, people would say that regular season wins don't matter and every team starts off at 0-0. Well, now that we have three losses under our belt, the sky is falling. Every goal that we wanted to accomplish thus far can be realized Sunday. Beat Indy at all costs and we'll be another win away from having more than a puncher's chance to be playing for the whole enchilada. As far as who scares me, it's the Patriots. Dressen and Tamme don't compare to Gronk and Hernandez. It's not even close. Our biggest mismatch is guarding tight ends. The Packers is the team that scares me most out in the NFC. Followed by Seattle and San Fran.
I know Cushing was a big piece to our defense but he would have been little help in 2 out of 3 of our losses where our secondary got torched. Think we have a good shot of winning the SB, but getting there is just going to be the difficult part.
To be fair, it's not the number of losses we have, it's how we've been losing. All 3 games we lost we played a lackadaisical game and couldn't step up.
Are we supposed to be especially weak to TEs because our safeties are two converted small CBs? That's the point of having two elite TEs. They're a mismatch problem for everyone, not just the Texans. Randolph and Pettigrew and Lewis had big days too, so our weakness could very well be TE. But how many TEs are fast enough that they can beat our secondary downfield (except on a blown coverage)? I think our weakness are the fast slot WRs, because it doesn't seem like either we're jamming well enough to disrupt timing routes or preventing separation on broken plays.
not discussing sports, im addressing your dumbass statement that implies that anyone questioning the team is a bandwagoner.. save your rahrah bs for sunday you cheerleader..
I didn't say that. A lot of people..not just here but on fb, etc are coming out of the woodwork talking ish. I specifically used the word...haters. You know the ones that seemingly root inside for Schaub to fail so they can say I told you so. These so-called Texans fans are the worst. You seem awfully defensive. If you've been on board since day 1, you wouldn't be so butt-hurt about my comment. Where did I say that anyone questioning the team is a bandwagon fan? I would love to see the team upgrade any position on the team. If that happens to be the QB position, so be it. Edit: Re-reading some of your posts in the other thread. You want Yates as our QB? LOL. Schaub probably ain't the answer. But TJ Yates? Ya effin right. We could draft a QB in the second or third and he would beat out TJ Yates next season. Merry Christmas. Go get laid. SMH.
