I was just curious what kind of a sports playing audience we have here? Personally, my favorite sport to play is tennis, by far. I'm not good, but not bad (if there are any Austinites who want to kick my ass, I'm always looking to play more). I've tried golf off-and-on, but that hasn't gone so well! I never got into football, basketball or baseball/softball growing up, although I wish I had played some baseball. Played Soccer when I was like 6. Loved to play Volleyball, but was never very good and never played enough to get decent. Ultimate Frisbee is pretty cool (or was, 8 years ago). Ping Pong, Pool, Bowling, and Air Hockey (The "non-sport" sports) all rock too. I kicked RM95's ass in these four regularly, til he got scared to play me!
I love to play basketball. That's about it. I play on my school's team, a traveling team, and just a regular recreational league. I have been playing basketball since I was like 5.
now you are talking MY world!!! any swimming is great. its when i feel most at home. Paintball, the best sport in the world. rugby best sport involving a ball. or 2 very large ones if you will. Hockey. best sport, well in the winter Soccer my first and longest love Volleyball basketball is most fun with friends. football is great, but its hard to get enough friends together. if done organized, the peoples mentality usually turns me off to the sport this is a good start
I used to play tennis, but that's about the only real sport I've ever played. And I'm taking kickboxing this semester (and it's getting me in amazing shape)! I played flag football for a semester, but it was just a bunch of girls running around aimlessly. I'll play basketball with Lynus or my brother, but I don't have any rules. My sport, which most people don't consider a sport, was dancing. I took ballet, tap, jazz, modern, pointe, lyrical and modern for 13 years. I know it's a fine art, but the physical demands are the same. Some of the best workouts I got though came in marching band. Outside 2 hours+ for 5 days a week in 110 degree weather really takes it out of you. I was probably in the best shape of my life then (although I'm trying to get back). There's a lot of discipline involved, if you take it seriously.
I have always loved basketball, but its changed for me. I used to be ultra competative. I had to win, and was good enough to do it. NOw 40 pounds removed from highschool. I have really began to just enjoy the little things of the game. Just playing for fun. I wish I knew then what i know now. Football and softball are good when there are enough people there, but that can be real hard to do. ANd the whole keeping score thing
Basketball. I'm not very good... But if you don't like physical defense, then get ready to get jacked. And I will always pass off to the hot shooter... Pass first, shoot third. I play baseball much better than I play basketball, though. I had a .728 batting avg once... Long ago. And I have played every position, including pitching. It's just a really boring sport to watch (and hence not a good fan sport, IMHO). Anyone who actually watches golf needs a life.
I play Basketball 2 or 3 times a week at lunch. Play Top level city league softball once a week. Play flag football on Saturdays..(occasionally). Play Table tennis every day at work. I also played Soccer on a company team a couple of years ago, but the guys were way better then me. I am a very competitive person, but still play sometimes for fun. DaDakota
Handball!! followed by basketball, tennis, golf and soccer. Handball is a great sport, though. It´s a shame most of you have never heard of it!
I play basketball a couple of times a week, sometimes more sometimes less. But I love doing Taekwon-do, which I have been practicing for 7 years. Other sports which I play (but not competitivly) are soccer and Aussie Rules Football.
Golf is not a sport. No one runs anywhere, no one defends the hole, and no one defends the ball. And only one person has control over the ball. Not a sport. Is marbles a sport?
Before I moved stateside, it was nothing but soccer...even got asked to play with the USO team when they visited Okinawa. During the 90's I was running marathons and triathlons and playing a lot of disc golf. I had to stop triathlons...too many disciplines to train for. Now it's just disc golf...if that's a sport. RR
I used to play all kinds of different sports including baseball and soccer. Also when I was in shape (which was in high school), I was a pretty decent track athlete. I ran a mile in 5 minutes and 25 seconds, 400 meters in 52 seconds, and a 100 meters in 11.26. Now, I would be extremely lucky to come close to any of those times now. I also have played soccer off and on, and always enjoyed it; however, I can't find a league nor do I have the time to play it now. I have a set of golf clubs, and I have played a little bit, but once again, not enough time to really get decent at it. I have played basketball for the last 20 years, but I have gotten burned out and right now I'm taking a break from it. People who have played with me describe me as a Dennis Rodman (his basketball playing only) because of my talent to get rebounds. Softball is really the only sport I play now on a consistent basis, and even there I have cut back somewhat. Back when I was in college, I used to play about 150 games a year. I loved playing that sport! Now, I'm probably lucky if I play half that much, but I still love playing. In all of the leagues I played in, I normally average over .500 in batting and over .600 in the church leagues. Water-skiing and weight-lifting may not be considered sports by many people here, but they are things that I enjoy doing.

I play basketball twice a week in the parking lot at work - have played all my life, and only stopped competitively about 3 years ago. Grew up playing Aussie Rules football - definitely my preferred sport, however it is difficult to play here in Houston - I used to drive to Dallas once a month to play in a team up there but it is too much hard work. I also play tennis, run (ran marathon last year) waterski, snowboard and volleyball.
Softball......in the good old Intramural days, my slugging percentange was above 2. I've lost a lot of bat speed since then. I only get singles now which is frustrating since hitting doubles use to be so easy. Played some fast pitch last year which was pretty cool. Since I haven't played regulary since college I'm equally proficient at all positions as my skill switch is tuggled to the suck position like megamaid.
Basketball and nothing but. Right now my intramural team in college is undefeated and we beat our opponents by an average of 29 points. If we win our next two games we will finish undefeated and if we win the playoffs we get to visit Conway, AR to participate in the tournament of intramural teams from different colleges and universities around Arkansas.
MC, thanks for the heads up, but Im all good. I have played for 8 years now, and own 4 markers(guns) one of which is an Airguns design Automag. virtually the same marker. without some asthetic differences from the minimag. its a damn good reliable marker. ist My #2 thought with an STO autococker as my primary. they misquoted the value of the loader, and mask, but i guess thats their perogative. I am also a Paintball retailer, and can get all those things at cost, so if someone wants anything geve me a hollar at my yahoo adress. again thanks MC
I play soccer (intramural, I'm a damned fine keeper) and a little pick-up basketball (though not as much as I'd like). I play a little squash (sp) and tennis as well, but am very, very bad at both of these.
