I thought this needed to be revisited.
    Here's mine:
    Francis
Cat....that hard work over the summer is starting to pay off. He's acquired a coat of polish.
    Anderson
Cato...He seems to need to get into the flow and acclimate himself.Bringing him in cold off the bench just seems to breed foul problems.Kelvin and Dream make such a great shotblocking tandem and there seems to be a chemistry between he and Stevie.
    Dream
Bigtime defense with this crew and fast, fast, fast
Most importantly,it would mean the end of the dinosaur PO offense
First off the bench:Chuck...He's done this before and his knowledge of the game makes this a natural.I don't want him on the court at the same time as Dream.Posting up,clogging the middle
Rogers..His ability to hit the boards, cut to the hoop, and defense are helpful attributes.
With Barkley's passing ability he should get a lot of buckets off of cuts to the hoop.
lots of minutes for this guy at 3/4.
    Sam Mack...if not dealt
If he is lets add whoever we get for him and a veteran point guard.
Trade Walt and Bryce, but make sure we get some shooting in return and/or that point guard. We could use a 3 obviously, but we'll see.Thoughts? HH

I would have to agree with you HH. I really like that lineup of Francis, Mobley, Anderson, Cato, and Olajuwon. I really think that Hakeem and Cato would be a great duo to contend Duncan and Robinson. However, I also really like the lineup of...

    PG Francis
    SG Mobley
    C Cato
    PF Barkley
    SF Anderson

That lineup would give us a lot of easy fastbreak baskets.
However, I think that I would be asking too much for Rudy to use Hakeem as an option off the bench. I just don't see that happening. The next few games will be VERY INTERESTING to me, because we will not have Hakeem in there to slow our fast breaks.

    Hardwood,
I am about to be blasphemous, so hold on. Here's my starting line-up the way our players are playing now:

C: Olajuwan/Cato (pretty much split the minutes)

PF: Barkley/Cato/Massenberg-but I'd like to see Thomas get some p.t. this year too.

SF: Rogers/Williams/Shandon when we play a "small" small forward.

SG: Mobley. Just ask Pippen. Shandon can back him up until he steps up.

PG: Duh. Drew is coming along. Still think we need a veteran tutor to teach Stevie math (assist to turnover ratios).

We should never have Barkley on the floor the same time that Dream is on the floor and vice versa. However, Dream is the biggest impediment to the running game on this team. He is more capable than Barkley, but all he wants to do is post up. He could set high picks and take 16-18 footers with ease and regularity. It's Barkley that ought to post more. Barkley is a better passer and with him in the lane we know we're gonna get some boards. I think that the Round Mound and the Dream can play together, but Hakeem needs to be willing to step aside a little more. Barkley has shown the character to come off the bench if we need him to. Is Hakeem's ego a problem?

    p.s. I am not a
    Dream-hater. Just
    speaking my peace.

    PG Drew
    SG Mack
    C Hamilton
    SF Bullard
    PF Thomas

if that doesn't work...then we are in for a long season. [IMG]

    Pass 1st,
I hate to say this, but I think Dream and Rudy need to get with the program.Dream is constantly demanding the ball in the post and Rudy just encourages it.Ego is definitely a problem.I agree 100%Rudy needs to bring Hakeem out to bust 15 footers and rebound. In the end this is Rudy's responsibility.
    Red cabbage,
Are you sure your not Rudy T?How do you make one of those smiley faces?.....anyway

I,also am looking forward to seeing Cato start.I really believe he will put up numbers similiar to preseason.I sure wish when Dream comes back that they start Cato alongside at the 4.

With all these groin pulls we will get plenty of Cato, which is what I want to see. Especially with Rogers and Barkley.
    Starters ?

    Cato
    Barkley
    Anderson
    Rogers
    Francis

    Cat
    WIlliams
    Bullard
An outstanding veteran PG : )....wishing

Our starting five shouldn't be changed too much. I think Rudy should start his five best players on the floor and switch Shandon to SF, to start Mobley at the point (unless we want Mobley to win 6th man of the year).

    C-Hakeem
    PF-Barkley
    SF-Anderson
    SG-Mobley
    PG-Francis

    Olajuwon/Cato

    Massenburg/Cato/Barkley

    Anderson/Bullard or Williams(sigh)

    Mobley/Drew

    Francis/Drew
I think that Drew is a good backup for now, but a veteran point guard would be nice. Barkley should come off the bench, or start and then go to the bench. Olajuwon and Barkley CAN be in together, but not for long. Olajuwon...can he still hit that mid-range jumper consistently? I haven't seen it in a while. I think he is reluctant to get out there.

    Kato

I think Barkey is the best player on this team bar none. Even though he isn't scoring as well, he is probably our best defender in that most missed shots inevitably end up in his hands. I think with Cato there to help out and change shots it will bring down fg% and that will work out well with Barkley's rebounding. Unfortunately, he can't bring it for 48 min. anymore. For every minute Barkley is off the floor, Hakeem must be in there. You must have one post up option on the floor at all times. I'm not saying that it should be used exclusively, but the option should be there always. Also, when Rogers matures to the point that he can start, he should. The sixth man should be Shandon. Walt Williams is a black Matt Bullard and there's only room for one of those on any team and I think Matt is a great locker room presence.

More important than the starting five is the ending five. This is my final line up.

    Francis
    Mobley
    Anderson
    Barkley
    Olajuwon

This is the best half court personel on the team and fast breaks don't normally happen in the final minutes of the game. The offense should run through Hakeem posting up passing off to Francis, Mobley, and Anderson who can pass, slash or work the two man game with either Dream or Chuck. Chucks main goal should be to grab boards and stay out of Dream's left block.
