Similar to the boomerang name: Steve "Bad Penny" Francis. We tried to get rid of him but he just came back.
I am fine with him being Stevie Franchise as long as there is an implied. STEVIE leading the team to the lottery so they Got Yao Ming was great for the FRANCHSE or STEVIE being traded for T-MAC was great for the FRANCHISE or STEVIE coming back as role player may help the FRANCHISE I mean those things are too long to say. So just call him Stevie Franchise, and we will all know what it means.
This is not true. Francis was injured in most of 2001-2002 season so the team was bad enough to land Yao Ming in the following draft. He did NOT lead that team to lottery.
You are correct, but that really wasn't the point. The point being made with a lame attempt at sarcasm was he really doesn't deserve the FRANCHISE nickname anymore. Of course rarely does anyone ever "lead" a team to the lottery. Some people may be more to blame for a team's travails than others. Of course you could make the case that his injury was a large part of their record that year so hewas a major contributor. Then again they were below .500 with him in the lineup so if he hadn't been injuredmost ofthe yearthey probably still would have been in the lottery, but may not have had enough balls to win it with their better record. Either way, that really wasn't the point of the post. The best things that have happened to the franchise because of Stevie had very little little to do with his "stellar" on the court perfromance.
