4 years to life is the range or with probation 20 years. personally, if the guy did rape the girl i'd hope he gets life. and also have him be a cell mate to all the other rapists. a taste of his own medicine :D

He should get whatever the standard is based on the facts of his case.

Maybe i heard it wrong but i thought he could get prison OR probation??? if this is the case, then 1st thing the NBA should ban him and not let him go to the HOF (not sure if he even deserves it yet but....) then i think if he did rape he then atleast 10 years..

Could the NBA ban Kobe if he's convicted? I can see him being banned for murder, but for anything else (not covered in the NBA rules) he would be let back into the league after serving his punishment.

Ideally a superstars status should have no influence on the sentencing. They should not be given a light sentence because the public wants to continue to see them perform. Neither should they have the book thrown at them to make an example.

If he is truely guilty then I would prefer the man was killed.

Just my oppinion though. Our society has no room for rapists and sex offenders.

Of course if she is lying she should be punished as well.

I suppose he should get a sentence with proper grammitical structure. You never know, they may just give him a run-on....

Whoa...I'm as much for the needle and the chair as anyone, but executing someone when they didn't kill anybody? The girl isn't dead. Give Kobe 30 years. He'll never score 46 points on the Rockets ever again.

If he's guilty and gets probation...bleh.

If he indeed raped the girl, he should go to prison for atleast 4 years and I hope he gets violated everyday there. Rape is one of the worse crimes there is because it screws the victim up for life.

I would say the clippers even though the blazers make sense.

The blazers are good, albeit trouble makers.

    Too nice.
The Hawks is more like it.
    :p

Honestly though, as someone has already mentioned, he should get the standard time if he actually did it.

Even though it'll never happen, and I know many will disagree with me, if the girl hasn't been telling the truth then she should be raped by men in jail.
That would be my ruling if I ruled the world....

I don't think the Sternbot would actually ban Kobe from the NBA. If Kobe does happen go to jail, i wouldn't be surprised to see D-Stern turn himself in also just so he could be Kobe's "cellmate".

I'm sure his NBA contract has morals clause in it and/or conduct detrimental to the reputation of the NBA. If he is convicted that alone should activate that clause and get contract negated. I am sure his endorsement contracts have sterner stuff in them. If he is found 'guilty' I would be happy with a few years probation and the loss of $200,000,000.00 in revenue.
